No compassion by staff. They hurt my pet and all she said was "Well, it happened", like "tough, we don't care"

Feeling disappointed. We've brought our animals here for years and have always come to our…read moreappointments. Today I called to set up an appointment for my daughter's guinea pigs and was told they have a new policy. They are now charging ahead of time a fee of $91 per guinea pig just to make the appointment, as a down payment before they're even seen. The woman on the phone said it was because some customers don't show up for their appointments. So, East Veterinary Clinic has decided that everyone else will now apparently be punished for those that don't show up. I told her that was too bad because we would need to wait until next week for pay day then, to schedule an appointment since we can't schedule unless we pay $182 now. My chiropractor does this too but they simply take your credit card info and hold unto it unless you don't show up to your appointment and are then charged a fee. Only the person who fails to show up is charged, not everyone else. Yes, they apply that $182 towards your appointment once there, but for college students like my daughters, that's a lot of money. They live paycheck to paycheck. They were going to get paid on the Thursday before the appointment on Friday, and it wouldn't have been a problem. I understand the Clinics frustrations with no-shows, but I think they need to find a better solution for this. My daughter called a few other veterinarian places and they do not have this policy. So, just be aware that now to make an appointment at East Veterinary Clinic in Holland, you will need to pay for your visit ahead of time. If you are unable to do that, there are other clinics in the area that told us they do not do this.

I know doctor can't give sick cat with fever rabies vaccine. My other doctor from Indiana was correct, She exam my different cat, Jilly and found out that she had fever, She can't give her rabies vaccine until she get better and have no fever. Google show that sick cat with fever can't have rabies vaccine. They went ahead and give Chessie rabies vaccine. They didn't care about her allergy and fever. I took her to other vets for allergy vaccine many times since 2017 and don't require rabies vaccine. They care about staff and don't care if sick cats and dogs die from rabies vaccine. They just want to make money. They sucks.

My potbelly Juliana pig has been going here for 5 years, and after calling them desperate for…read moreinformation and to come see my pig after he sustained some sort of leg/hoof injury, I was told they can either come give him a shot for pain or put him down.....when I questioned this outrageous suggestion I was told that they don't normally see mini pigs and only see commercial pigs "after I've been going here for over 5 years now" since dr brown has left they have been 0 help and act like they have no idea what they are doing. I've begged them just to come out and take a look at him and I was told no and given a list of other vets in the area. Idk what's been going on lately with this vet but they have taken a complete 180 and I am not happy. To only suggest putting him down and refusing to even come see him is outrageous. They have gone from a 10/10 to a 1/10 very quickly. Beware.

My sister and I are pet/house sitting and one of the pets is a 16-yr old potbelly pig. On Sunday…read moremorning she wouldn't come out of her igloo, and it looked like she might be dying. We had no idea what to do! Btw, I am 72, my sister 67. We called vets, Googled pig care, and got no direction; so we left her alone and prayed she wouldn't die! Monday I called more vets but no one knew anything about potbelly pigs! Finally someone told us about MSVS, I called and spoke to Patty who told us the vet, Dr. Brown, would be in touch. When we talked he gave me wonderful advice and was so understanding and knowledgeable, but most importantly he gave us hope and courage to get the pig up and out! I really wish someone had taken a video of us...two grey-haired women hollering at a pig as we reached in, took a hold of her back legs and pulled her out, squealing at the top of her lungs!!! We were ALL panting and exhausted after that!!! Dr. Brown, you are wonderful!! You are now a major part of the BEST. DAY. EVER!!! You helped us save a life; we truly could not have done it without you! Thank you!!

Points for friendliness but I have taken my dogs to Petsmart groomers in Florida, Connecticut, and…read morehere in Michigan, have given Holland a try twice. Appreciated that the manager was kind when scheduling the appointment and setting aside a requested purchase item they were low in stock on, but the first visit they didn't trim according to drop off instruction. On the second visit Brenda seemed to really listen and while it's true I always request they don't cut the fur off my papillon's ears, this time after getting home I realized they hadn't even given him a bath with his full groom appointment. I pay extra to not have my dogs left sitting while they work on other dogs and have never picked up a pet with a full groom and not had them had a bath, but upon getting home discovered he still had the same small bit of debris on the back of his ear as he went in with and no clean dog smell of having had a bath. Didn't smell bad or anything just not that fresh clean smell I'm used to after a grooming appointment. To be fair to the business I have not complained directly to them as I don't want a refund or any recompense just like to trust who I drop my dog off to and am disappointed with this location's quality of service.
