He watched us bring both our kids home. When we retreated from Chicago to Holland during covid we knew Bruce may not come home with us. It crushed our small family but we wanted to have the best times we could with him. Ottawa Animal Hospital was the very best help and treatment we could have asked for during Bruce's last days. They were tremendously patient with our numerous phone calls. They provided both traditional and alternative treatments to make him comfortable. When Bruce's last day came they came to us to help make our final moments easier on my small children. I can't say enough good things about all the providers - I believe we worked with all of them and they are exceptional. Thank you for the compassion and helping Bruce.

Today I called to set up an appointment for my daughter's guinea pigs and was told they have a new policy. They are now charging ahead of time a fee of $91 per guinea pig just to make the appointment, as a down payment before they're even seen. The woman on the phone said it was because some customers don't show up for their appointments. So, East Veterinary Clinic has decided that everyone else will now apparently be punished for those that don't show up. I told her that was too bad because we would need to wait until next week for pay day then, to schedule an appointment since we can't schedule unless we pay $182 now. My chiropractor does this too but they simply take your credit card info and hold unto it unless you don't show up to your appointment and are then charged a fee. Only the person who fails to show up is charged, not everyone else. Yes, they apply that $182 towards your appointment once there, but for college students like my daughters, that's a lot of money. They live paycheck to paycheck. They were going to get paid on the Thursday before the appointment on Friday, and it wouldn't have been a problem. I understand the Clinics frustrations with no-shows, but I think they need to find a better solution for this. My daughter called a few other veterinarian places and they do not have this policy. So, just be aware that now to make an appointment at East Veterinary Clinic in Holland, you will need to pay for your visit ahead of time. If you are unable to do that, there are other clinics in the area that told us they do not do this.

Google show that sick cat with fever can't have rabies vaccine. They went ahead and give Chessie rabies vaccine. They didn't care about her allergy and fever. I took her to other vets for allergy vaccine many times since 2017 and don't require rabies vaccine. They care about staff and don't care if sick cats and dogs die from rabies vaccine. They just want to make money. They sucks.

They charged us $115 for a heartworm test that our dog didn't need (and is $50 or less anywhere else), did a $110 ultrasound that also wasn't needed (we already had X-rays), and then recommended further testing, and said additional meds would be needed after tests confirmed her condition. The final invoice included these meds even though she hadn't had the test. This clinic's main focus is on making money - NOT YOUR PET.

We've been very blessed by the staff at Mapleview over the years where we have close family connections. Dr. Bader himself and his daughter cried when he had to put our family dog down. It doesn't get more compassionate than that. We are so thankful for their massive generosity and learning experiences over the years. The staff truly does have a passion for helping animals. They offer an in-house pet rescue/adoption service called Headin' Home that operates out of Mapleview where they strive to find perfect fur-ever homes for cats and dogs. And I know for a fact that if you board your dog there, it'll get lots of love and kisses from a certain staff member named Mackenzie! They also provide the community with their annual Petapalooza every June which is such a fun outing for pet lovers. There's something for everyone - an incredible raffle and silent auction, tons of vendors and entertainment, pet adoption, and a pet costume contest. I pay extra to not have my dogs left sitting while they work on other dogs and have never picked up a pet with a full groom and not had them had a bath, but upon getting home discovered he still had the same small bit of debris on the back of his ear as he went in with and no clean dog smell of having had a bath. Didn't smell bad or anything just not that fresh clean smell I'm used to after a grooming appointment. To be fair to the business I have not complained directly to them as I don't want a refund or any recompense just like to trust who I drop my dog off to and am disappointed with this location's quality of service.
