From the way tables are arranged to how the menu is structures, sharing and communion are clearly the core concepts defining the spirit of this place. Regarding their food, I tend to agree with what others comment about this place. There is way too much focus on fried food-I would not consider their menu attractive for someone looking for healthy options around this trendy area of Santiago. I had the fish tacos and they were really really good. However, I do not hold the same opinion about the boletus croquetas. The croquetas were bland and lacked and boring (truly nothing exciting about them)... I would definitely recommend the tacos, but croquetas are a waste of money and time. Cocktails in general, and gin in particular, are supposed to be their distinctive feature with the rest of pubs/bars in the area. I was not impressed with the variety of Gin they hold. My personal impression is that they are not running any kind of risk when it comes to selecting some labels over others and that they are not open to consider some really good ones (for example: G-vine). Because it was hard for me see their expertise in a menu where Gin Mare is expected to shine, I decided to try some cocktails. I ordered a negroni and it was OK, nothing memorable about it. I also tried the Gin Yang, which I had to the send back because I prefered to avoid an instant visit to the doctor. The level of sweetness was simply overwhelming... In general this place is ok, but I would probably think twice before coming back. I really enjoyed the sharing-based value proposition but I do feel that they are not capable to meet the expectations proposed in their menu.

This is technically a gay bar but I like to go with my girl friends or my guy friends for some cheap drinks and to get the night going with something a little different. They have a variety of seating from a typical round table, to cozy pillow covered benches. The lighting is low and very party like.

It can be pop, hip-hop, tecno, house -- they even play some salsa. It is also a great club to get a group of friends together to celebrate birthdays and special events. You can email them at : rrpp@subterraneo.cl and they will give you info about renting or reserving the section with tables in the back. If you do end up celebrating here, let them know you will be coming with a large group and you can send them your guest list and your friends will be able to enter free until 12am You should keep an eye out on their Facebook page (where they promote their events) there they show which events have a guest list and you can send in your name via email to get on the list. Entrance is then *free* until a certain time, usually around 1130pm and 12am. The entrance usually costs 4 mil after 12am. Also, I am not sure if they still do this, but if you eat dinner at any of the restaurants in Paseo Oreggo Lucco, you will be allowed in free before 11:30pm I recommend coming early to take advantage of their great happy hour specials and if you want something off the happy hour list, the bar is pretty well equipped to make just about any drink you want. Oh, they also have coat check but you pay for each item (I would bring a large purse where a jacket and scarf can fit...).

Los Cuates can be classified as Santiago "authentic" Mexican. Everything we ordered was really good. I had the burrito plate, which turned out to be three small burritos not one large one. It can with fresh guacamole and a cheese sauce. We also got bean tacos, extra tortillas and beans. The only thing we were missing was chips and salsa. The table behind us ordered nachos, which looked amazing and next time we will be sure to give them a try. I can also highly recommend the lemonade. I am sure we will be back. It is in a good location near the subway and everyone was very friendly, even with our poor Spanish.
