NOTE: This "Mexican" restaurant doesn't serve tacos. The food was a doctored up way of presenting German-style entrees with something approaching Mexican flair... if you are feeling generous. For example, they have a series of "Baked Potato" topped with different meats, pick between beef or chicken or vegetarian. I would just called that a loaded baked potato in the States. They have a series of burgers, with barely even a Tex-Mex twist. They offer steak, enchiladas, and burritos, which are basically wraps which you can pull off with bland stuffings and underwhelming sauces. Don't be looking for chipotle, fresh jalapenos, salsa picante, or crema, or even proper pulled adobo pork. Don't be looking for melted cheese, or for spicy pork stews. Their spicy sauce was good ol' Louisiana Tabasco. On top of it all, the kitchen was slow and haphazard. We waited a good 45 minutes for a Yucatan salad (it had guacamole in it!) and a baked potato entree. I'm just going to leave it as a disappointing food destination but standard polite and professional service. Colorful bar and decent place to get a drink.

Chips and salsa were fresh and flavorful. They gave us some unique house made salsas that had great flavors and enough heat to do the job. After asking 3 times for the menu we finally got it.....in the same time it looked like the waitress was way too busy entertaining a table behind us..group of her friends...to even pass the menus.. When we arrived at the restaurant I liked the style immediately. It wasn't over the top with cheesy decor, but subtle and thoughtful. It was busy when we arrived as it was prime time on a Friday night, so we sat at the bar and had some drinks. I had the Mexican Mojito, which replaced the rum in the standard drink with tequila. It was strong and delightful. I may have had two, they were so good I don't remember. I also had some of their house margarita and it was also a solid well-made drink. I didn't have a full meal here, but did try a few of their appetizers. I tried the guacamole which was flavorful, though a little too smooth as if blended. I also had the tortilla soup which was definitely a hit. Next time I'm craving Mexican food, or something close enough to it, I'll be sure to give Pssst Amigo another shot.
