The food was delicious, the service was great, and it's so family friendly! My little one (1.5yo) had her own menu and colouring pencils, she enjoyed her (healthy!) Kid's Fajitas meal and even when she got restless and was strolling around and dancing to the music (played at a suitable volume to create an atmosphere but still be able to have easy conversations), the team interacted with her in such a lovely manner. I'm glad we stopped here for dinner on our way into Bendigo from Melbourne. We were quite impressed with everything... you have a great team there! Tip: the drinks selection is pretty good - but they also offer BYO beer & wine Mon-Thurs. And the taco platter is yummy - you can mix it up and choose 3 different fillings (the slow cooked lamb was surprisingly my favourite!).

Unfortunately it took three attempts to get my order, and eventually I got a refund for my missing…read moremeal. Ordered online direct with the restaurant, and came to pick up my order. The restaurant is very noisy and I was handed two bags. I took them back to my mum's house and realised that it was not my order. Rang them and arranged to bring the wrong order back to get the right order. Went back to the restaurant (second time) and was given a bag. Made them wait while I checked if it was right. It was still missing items, and lo and behold, there was another bag with my items they had not given me. Checked this one and it seemed to be right and I left. Got back again and realised my own meal was the only one missing. Went back again (third time), and demanded a refund of my meal. The refund was difficult to process and eventually went through. While this was happening it came about that they no longer had any record of the order. I will not be back. Far too much stuffing around to get my order and refund.

Very pleased to find a vegetarian cafe in the little town of Kyneton, about an hour from Melbourne…read more We stopped by Kyneton on our way to Daylesord and had a really pleasant lunch in their awesome courtyard out back. When you walk in, you'll see a cheerful yet snug cafe. Not a lot of space. Ask to be seated out back in the courtyard instead (unless it's raining). The courtyard is a narrow, sunny space with lovely flowers and a smattering of tables and chairs, including a pint-sized table and chairs for small children (which my boyfriend naturally had to try sitting at. Good thing he didn't break it.) Staff here is super friendly albeit a little slow (not their fault -- I think they're understaffed on the weekends, when a bunch of city-dwellers hit the town from Melbs.) Vegan and gluten-free options are clearly marked on the menu. I had the tempeh and tofu burgers -- one of each, because they're more like sliders. They're $8 each, so two made for a more complete meal that still didn't break the budget. I enjoyed both the tofu and tempeh, but the tempeh one was my favourite. The burgers came with tahini, avocado, and greens. The tahini added a very nice taste and texture, but I didn't care for the actual buns. The bread wasn't nice. My boyfriend had the Mexican beans dish and enjoyed it. I tried it but wasn't blown away -- I think my meal was better. His was smothered in cheese and sour cream (no vegan option) so maybe that's why -- the parts I tasted were kind of bland. I'm not a fan of restaurants dousing things in cheese and sour cream rather than trying to make their dishes taste yummy and creative on their own. (You start noticing these kinds of things when you go vegan and can't douse your meals in cheese and sour cream anymore!) He also ordered an almond-milk latte, which he enjoyed. Definitely worth stopping in here if you're passing through Kyneton and want a nice breakfast or lunch (or even just a coffee!) in a lovely courtyard -- don't expect perfection, but it's a very nice little stop.
