Constant cost increases throughout the project. Man is basically a scammer, avoid doing business with him at all costs.

Great Dane took 75% of my money to renovate my bathroom and walked out on me, leaving me with a…read more"bathroom" that has no toilet, no sink, no shower, no lights, no electricity, no door, and unfinished walls and ceiling. In August, we signed a contract and I put down 50% to begin work. He came in and ripped out my old bathroom down to the studs and then just stopped showing up for days or even weeks at a time. Every week he made promises about returning to work, every week he failed to show, giving me lie after lie after lie, until after 2 months had passed with no bathroom, he told me that he would not do any more work until I gave him more money. When I said no, he refused to come back and stopped talking to me - leaving this space in my bedroom that not only had no floor (or door to close it off) so was incredibly dangerous, it was filled with construction debris, including food wrappers (think: bugs!) and nails sticking out of boards. At this point, his assistant called and offered to get someone to come out to install the floor and tile what was to be the shower if I agreed to pay the next 25% in return and, I was assured, in writing, they would then be out the next week to complete the bathroom. They sent a sub to do the tile and floor that weekend, so I held my side of the agreement and gave them the next check, which they immediately cashed and then never returned again (except 1 morning, a month later, when they sent 3 guys to sit in my driveway for 20 minutes and refuse to come in, at which point I seriously feared for my safety). The next day (this was now in December - nearly 4 months after ripping out my bathroom) they sent me a letter stating that they would no longer work for me. I asked for my money back and they sent me a 2nd letter saying they would not return any of my money to me. ps - the name of his carpenter is Ray.

James has completed two bathroom remodel jobs for us and both have been an excellent, positive…read moreexperience. For the first remodel job we got quotes from three different contractors and James' quote was very competitive. But the main reason we selected James was due to the conversations with James and how he communicated with us on the remodel process, describing how he works with homeowners, our review of his portfolio of previous work and the design concepts he offered as we worked through the work details and finalized the quote. While we worked out the project details, even prior to being awarded the job, James provided numerous suggestions on the renovations, and material selection and spent several hours researching ways to reduce material cost. We also spoke with one of James's previous customers who gave him an outstanding recommendation. Once the project started James worked every day, often working late in the day to ensure he kept the project on schedule, in fact James completed the project several days ahead of the commit date. James is very detail oriented and takes additional steps during the preparation and installation to achieve a superior finished product - for example applying masking tape to the vanity tops prior to installing backsplash so the adhesive bead is minimal and does run out onto the surface of the vanity top. James is a highly skilled and capable craftsman who offers a broad range of services - electrical, construction, plumbing, tile, paint, and design and his top priority is to ensure his customer is completely thrilled with the finished project. We thanks James for all the skill, effort and diligence he put into our project and he was a 100% successful as we are very, very thrilled with the results!

Prime Design completed an extensive remodel of our home, and what made this project especially…read moreunique was that much of the planning took place while we were living in one state, and the contractor was located in another. Under those circumstances, clear and consistent communication was absolutely critical. Several aspects of our experience stood out. First and foremost, the quality of the work was exceptional. The finished product is beautiful, and the attention to detail is evident throughout the entire house. Second, during the planning phase, Prime Design provided a comprehensive list of decisions we needed to make--from flooring and countertops to every light fixture and faucet. This created a clear roadmap for the project, helped us select items that complemented one another, and documented every choice along the way. As a result, there were no surprises when the project was completed. Finally, because we were still living out of state during much of the construction, regular communication was essential. We received frequent progress updates and photos, which allowed us to monitor the work, confirm that everything met our expectations, and feel confident that the project was moving in the right direction. We are extremely happy with both the process and the finished result. We recommend them to anyone considering a remodeling project.

After 40 years of dealing with one contractor, I had to find a different company to deal with. ( My…read moreguy retired) I met with Stu and went over my thoughts and plans for a roof "reconfiguration" and he and his crew delivered as promised. As for any final concerns that I had, those were handled and resolved in a way that's best described as an "old school" way of doing business. All of the crew were great to deal with and I'm completely satisfied. Also his wife Lori is great too and you know she is more than capable of getting things done on her end. They have a great family thing going on! For what my opinion is worth, I highly recommend this company. Gary Rondeau Contoocook NH

We felt comfortable hiring Stu after meeting with him a few times, and we weren't wrong!! Our deck is gorgeous and I was blown away by how quickly it was completed! Stu and his entire team are friendly and attentive and they truly care about their clients. They're coming back on Thursday to start a total replacement of our kitchen including removing a wall and redoing a lot of electrical and plumbing, and we're already planning on having them build us a garage and remodel our bathrooms as well. I can't wait to update my review with pictures of our kitchen in a couple weeks!
