If one experiences…read morea flat tire on a Sunday or Monday and can't be arsed with repairing it, then, have no fear, this Migros City bike repair is OPEN on a Monday. From what I gather, it may be one of the only bike shops in town open on Monday, so one might wish to call ahead if a same-day repair is desired. I popped in at a time when the seemingly one-man-band that is Marc the Monteur had his hands full with work. I left my bike in his capable hands and picked it up the next day.

This was one of the biggest Migros I have been to and it's right next to the Bahnhofstrasse where…read moreall the shops are. First floor has takeaway food and a few shops including shoe store. I was pleasantly surprised to find Migros restaurant on 4th floor. It has salad (warm/cold) bar, made-to-order pasta/pizza section, dessert section, also daily deal warm dish section with fish/chicken with sides. All are about 15 or less CHF. This is a bargain in Zurich! Milchkaffee (almost like cappuccino but made with coffee, not espresso) is 3CHF. I will go back to try pasta someday. A giant Parmasan cheese having grated parmasan was big appealing for me :) PS: Toilets are not free. a glass of water is free

Zürcher Brockenhaus is one of my favorite places to pass the time after grocery shopping (another way to save money). This place is massive, with three floors of curated objects, clothing, and furnishings, and the staff is always nice. I wish I could bring the big pieces home! I always find something cool here. We were on the hunt for a wardrobe as flats don't seem to have a lot of closets, if any at all, and found a sizable amount on the ground floor of Brockenhaus. I'd say the prices ranged anywhere from 300 to 1000 CHF, depending on quality and such. While we didn't purchase anything given that we don't yet have a flat, we 'filed' away what we would like when we do have a place to put it in, so, Brockenhaus, we'll see you again!

High end merchandise, friendly staff, and ample areas to roam about as you take in the beauty of this store. We ended up in the area that sells food, wines, and cheeses. WOW is all that I can say. Each item seems as though it is was hand polished, set down with precision, only waiting for you to pick it up and place it in your basket. The cheese, chocolates, wines, all so spectacular in their own right. No on argues that this store is more expensive than others such as COOP, or Migros, but they are in different leagues. The wine department has a beautiful assortment of wines, liquors, and spirits with very thoughtful associates able to answer many questions. We enjoyed this very much. This store is designed for those who are able to spend their money without worrying about what the bill looks like. With that being said, we walked out without buying anything as we just started our day in Zurich. This store is mesmerizing, you must stop in and appreciate its beauty, even if you don't plan on buying anything. It is simply a treat.
