I had a deep tissue massage with Jackie. I walked in, and they worked their schedule to accommodate my desire for a 90 minute session, even though at first they only had 60 minute sessions open. OMG. This massage was AMAZINGLY FABULOUS. I looked online to find a reasonably priced spa with good reviews. This place did not disappoint. The facility is clean, quiet and unpretentious. They don't waste money on decor. I hope the massage therapists are well compensated. I gave a $20 USD tip on top of the $90 massage fee. Like others have said, this massage was one of the best I've had, and I've had quite a few in the US and abroad. I came out of there feeling so light and centered and floating. So tentative to the areas of the body that were stressed. Rubbed out all of the knots and when all was done, felt like I had just come out of the womb. Went into Zafiro Spa for a Deep Tissue massage and it was amazing! The masseuse was great, she worked out the knots in my neck and back and really stretched my muscles. The only complaint was that there was a lot of outside noise from the restaurant next door. When the ambient music turned off the noise just permeated the peaceful atmosphere. I would def recommend. I had one of the BEST massages EVER!! I get 1 -2 massages a month in my hometown so I always like to treat myself when I'm traveling. I was walking downtown (City square area) when I saw the sign and I went in and they showed me around and I scheduled an appt for the next morning. It was neat and clean, air conditioned, with calming sounds. I had Jenny and she used a couple of essential oils for me to inhale and then used it on my skin. Although little English is spoken here and our Spanish is zero, we managed to get what we wanted at totally affordable prices. It's a small spa set back in a small shopping center, unassuming in appearance but don't worry, the place is clean and the service friendly. My wife and I enjoyed a 90 minute couples Swedish massage for $60 each. The neck massage was one of the best I've ever had and the overall experience was wonderful. The ladies speak some English. After seeing the prices for the spa at our hotel, I didn't think massages or facials would happen on this trip. We have been to five star spas at the Peninsula and Bliss and also dive Asian foot massages. What we have found is that the way it looks on the outside, has nothing to do with the way it will feel on the inside. This is my point with Zafiro...it's tucked away in a shopping center with no advertising, but it was AMAZING. I called the morning of our appointment and they got us in at 11:30. My husband and I each had a massage and a facial, in the same room. The massages were perfect and relaxing. The facials left our skin clean and glowing. The total price for two massages and two facials was $160USD. I can't believe it since we were there two hours. The staff couldn't have been friendlier, more accommodating or professional. $30 for a pedicure. My experience: Made an appt over the phone. They didn't speak English. Arrived on time, they had me sit in the lobby on a leather chair, and that lobby turned out to be where I was having the service. They brought a bowl over of hot water and spent about 10 minutes getting all their supplies ready on a little table and brought it over to me along with a stool. The pedicure was meticulous and gentle (no stabbing at my cuticles). The tools looked new and I began to relax. They removed my current polish, filed, clipped, cuticle pushed, buffed and used the sandpaper like paddle to soften the pads of my feet. They even used a scrub. All that was great. The massage portion was too short (approx 5 min). The painting also took a long time and the girl seemed a little inexperienced (used polish remover a couple times when it got on my skin). Over all this was a good experience but at the hotel I could have the same experience for $55 and it would have been a nicer environment with outage driving (but I wanted a little adventure). Also- it's nice that they have a parking lot bc I'm not sure of parking rules in San Jose. read more

They used wonderful aromatherapy and ambient sounds that augmented a really great massage. We came for a couples massage, so if you're looking for that, they have the set up available.
