Please keep in mind that this is a very simple and uncontested probate case with very minimal assets and only 2 siblings (which were in complete agreement). Well 2 years later the probate is almost complete. This has been the worst experience I've ever experienced with what should be a "professional" business. The level of incompetence that this attorney and his staff has demonstrated over the past 2 years is mind boggling. When I originally spoke to Mr Zack he said that an uncontested probate can be easily handled in 6 months with more difficult cases taking 1-2 years. Fast forward 2+ years and my very simple case is almost complete only after my wife and I had to, on multiple occasions, call to forcefully inquire. If you are considering hiring Mr Zack or his associates I would strong urge you to reconsider and retain someone else who is actually qualified. The only reason I gave 1 star is because a negative star wasn't an option.

He also promised to send a full accounting of the estate to an attorney we hired to review his suspicious work in March 2006. And of course, this was not done as promised. It was a very clear-cut, non contentious divorce that should've taken 3 months MAX and could've been done sans lawyer - but I didn't want to deal with the paperwork headache. So I paid a $4,000 retainer with the assurance that we would NOT exceed that amount unless it turned into a battle that went to court. Well, we never went to court and were in agreement every step of the way, yet Marc is now trying to charge additional funds after the divorce took 8 months due to HIS disinterest in the case. This lack of attentiveness led to MULTIPLE, repeated mistakes that should've never occurred because the majority of the divorce - including the parenting plan, division of property / debts and other miscellaneous details - had all been laid out by myself at the very beginning. Every time these mistakes were brought to his attention, with a gentle reminder for him to "refer to the original paperwork" - I was charged for him to make the corrections. I was told numerous times that certain paperwork or filings were already completed - then weeks or even months later, was surprised to hear that he was still working on those same items and you guessed it - being charged for them again. More than once, I sat in his office for appointments where he went over details that we had ALREADY ADDRESSED and reviewed in previous meetings - which was once again, a clear opportunity to double-charge me. I even had to ask for corrections on the child support order 3 different times (!!) - when I kept pointing out that the amounts were "off" compared to what I had determined in my own calculations. If I could give a zero, I would. Perhaps he was a good lawyer in the past, or is better with other areas of law - but when it came to a simple divorce, he was incredibly incompetent and expressed NO sense of urgency. In all honesty, his secretary was the only reason anything got done. Maybe I might've had a better experience if I was one of his "bigger ticket" clients - but unless you want to be exorbitantly charged for extreme lack of detail and disregard for your case, heed my advice and take your legal matters elsewhere!
