The daily updates through their app brought us peace of mind, and over the two and a half years our son attended, we accumulated over 3,000 photos. The transparency and communication were wonderful--we always felt informed about what was happening while our child was in their care. Suzie and the teachers never hesitated to make time for conversations, and our son was always excited to go to school to see his friends and teachers. What more could you ask for? All staff has been working in the center for a long time I believe on my tour the director said the newest staff member is going on their 3rd year being there. My child gets curriculum based activities throughout every day and the teachers and directors help my child at her own pace and help her understand the activity and project and unit in ways she can understand. This is also a small center and it is very warm and welcoming the center makes me feel that going to work with my child at this center is like her second home. In the infant room my child took her first steps and really enjoyed the sensory play they do. In toddlers she really loved the playground and the activities that the teachers put together. Before my child went to the preschool room the preschool teachers would see her and me at pick up and drop off and talk to us letting my daughter get use to them on her terms in her own way before being in their classroom the infant and toddler teachers make sure to come say hi to us and talk to her about how big she is getting. This made me feel very happy to be able to know that my child is in awesome and loving hands and that each teacher cares for my child even when she isn't in their classroom. The curriculum is very unique they teach the children the unit and the younger friends work on learning their colors and shapes while the older friends are learning Spanish and their letters. This center also provides breakfast, lunch and snack which is an amazing thing because I know my child will get all of her nutritions she needs for the day. Each playground is fun and exciting and the photos I get throughout the day warm my heart on hard days at work. The state that the school is a Montessori school, but I hardly ever saw anything of that matter. The school randomly decided to close for a whole week for the week of fourth of July. They gave the parents a months notice. I reached out to the director about how I was not able to get this time off. Being a single mother. She didn't care and was super rude to me. There is no structure in this facility and its sad because it use to be a great day care. Please do not send your children here.

We had sought out opportunities for education outside of the "traditional" classroom setting and FCS is exactly what we hoped it would be. The opportunities for children to learn through exploration, outdoor experiences, and have meaningful connections with nature, create a rich and engaging educational environment that is truly unique. After spending this past year amongst this community, it became apparent that we absolutely made the right decision for our daughter. The unwavering support, love, and kindness shown by the learning coaches and staff is something I imagine would be hard to find elsewhere. Every member of the community is deeply invested in the well-being and success of each child. They meet students where they are, recognizing and celebrating their individual strengths while providing thoughtful guidance and encouragement in areas where they need support. They also work continuously to foster relationships among the community (cross classroom learning, "Friendship Fridays", etc.); to help each child grow not only as learners, but also as compassionate and capable individuals. Our daughter has absolutely thrived at FCS this past year, both academically and socially. Her confidence, resilience and curiosity has flourished and that was in no small part to her being surrounded by people who truly care about her growth and happiness. We are endlessly grateful for this remarkable community and cannot recommend the Fitzgerald Community School enough, to any family seeking an educational environment where children are genuinely supported, challenged, and celebrated, each and every day. My husband and I were looking for a nature-based preschool for our son in Central Mass. A friend recommended Fitz and we fell in love with the program. The school has before care, after care, summer camp and holiday programs. It's our one-stop support system since we came from out of state. The property backs up to a nature reserve, and the kids spend hours outside learning and playing. The class ratios are small, and the different age levels interact with one another. My son loves having an older reading buddy and playing with older and younger kids. I love that my child is getting fresh air, sunshine, and learning through play. One of my favorite parts of the school is the support we got as parents. The owner of the school is an experienced child education consultant. She regularly hosts parenting classes and community events. My child is strong willed and stubborn, and the school taught me how to work with his personality so that everyone in our family is happy and harmonious. One of the core values of Fitz is preserving childhood. In this day and age of stress and sensory overload, I'm so glad there's a place my child can go where he gets to learn and just be a kid. Developing curiosity, relationships, and critical thinking are some of the positive traits we've watched our child develop at Fitz. The only "negative" I can think of is that once you experience this education model it's hard to go back. Once we learned that most of the public schools have 15 minutes outside per day, we re-enrolled for kindergarten. The school currently runs to grade 5. I'm so glad we found it.

From what we saw, this was due to high turnover and unsanitary conditions - Constant unhappiness - every time we came to pick up / drop off, someone would be crying. Logistical problems: - Frequent paid days off. The owner took many days off, without this being reflected in fees, and we had to take care of our son on our own. This was explained as the owner's vacation days. - No established rules or policies. There was no communication with the owner, interaction with other parents, or ways to communicate feedback. There were also many other problems - no education program, no organization, no activities to occupy the kids, but the above is a good rundown of major issues. In the end, we were unable to trust this place or Tanya, and we strongly recommend you don't bring your children here.
