I felt comfortable looking at all the good reviews from yelp & photos she had on their instagram, so I booked the first available hair stylist for a same day long & thicc hair blowout, since prices were comparable to Drybar's. Shortly after booking, I was contacted by the hairstylist I was booked with to inform me that she was double booked, so she offered a later time. Unfortunately, I couldn't accommodate the time she offered and they were able to book me in for an earlier slot. My services began immediately after walking in. The salon was nice, clean, and modern, and the hair washing station was really comfortable. Tara introduced herself as The Hair Nurse (which I totally didn't realize until then) and I ended up feeling comfortable enough to get my hair cut instead of just getting a blowout. Jess does the most amazing job at blending which was a big decision to see her initially. On top of her incredible work, she is a kind-hearted person! I had someone years ago damage my hair really badly and Jess was able to restore it and keep it healthy. Unfortunately, my experience has been extremely disappointing. After a fire caused by another tenant's negligence, my suite became unusable for an extended period. During the remediation process, my workspace was damaged, including walls, fixtures, and custom décor that I personally invested significant time and money into creating. Despite the disruption to my business, loss of income, client cancellations, and damage to my suite, I was still expected to continue paying full rent. What has been most frustrating is the lack of support and accountability. Communication was limited, concerns were often ignored, and there appeared to be very little effort made to work with affected tenants during an incredibly difficult situation. Rather than helping small business owners navigate the aftermath of a major incident, the response felt dismissive and focused solely on enforcing the lease. I understand that emergencies happen, but how management responds is what truly matters. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Salon Republic to beauty professionals looking for a landlord that prioritizes tenant support, communication, and fair treatment during unforeseen circumstances. I hope management takes steps to improve how they handle tenant concerns and business disruptions in the future.
