One of my favourite German restaurant…read more Although I have been here a lot of time, this restaurant never cease to amaze me. There are time where my Sauerbraten is too salty but there are more times when my steak tastes heavenly. My favourite food here is definitely their steak, so deliciously made with side dishes that is aimed to water your mouth.I have seen their SchweinHaxe and it is so good, with crispy outer layer. They also have the half-kilo 500gr steak for you hungry lions! The staff is very friendly and nice, and the service is amazing. even on busy days they always look for your needs and make sure you are satisfied with their service. On holiday season, you have to reserve a place because it gets crowded and people celebrate their party here. And dont worry, they have almost all type of drink, liquor, and non-soda drinks. This is a nice place to have that dinner with your family and friends.

The friendly staff kindly let me try to order in German, then helped me out with their impeccable English once I failed. I got their flagship burger and wow, it is amazing. Highly recommend. Also the pesto spread they bring before the meal for the bread is delicious. Rebecca, my server, was super nice and brought me more for my burger. Wish I had more time in Cologne to explore their menu some more!

Bold, tangy, and complemented everything well. We got the rhubarb cheese tart as the appetizer and the sweet/tartness of the rhubarb was nicely offset by the cheese. Entrees were the halibut with koodles (kohlrabi in noodle form) and mashed tomatoes. The kohlrabi was the unexpected star. Loved the tangy taste offset by the fish and potatoes. Also had the linguine with octopus. The linguine was pretty std but the lemon burst of flavor was so pleasant! Go here and enjoy a meal! It's a Köln gem!

Despite its kitsch decoration, Kilim is THE BEST place to have exactly the same kind of lahmacuns…read moreyou could have in Sanliurfa or Gaziantep provinces of Turkey in the area surrounding Bonn and Cologne. All sorts of lahmacuns, be them Urfa, Antep or Findik, are very crispy, hearty and tasty as they should be. The amount of onion in Urfa lahmacun and amount of garlic in Antep is very balanced. Icli koftes are highly recommended, too. Even though pides taste good as well, they are one class below lahmacuns and contain too much fat in my opinion. Desserts you could order at the end, including baklava, kadayif and sekerpare, are always fresh and tasty, as they are brought from the konditorei owned by Kilim the next door. Considering all these points, again, Kilim is THE BEST place to taste the genuine Southeastern Anatolian food inspired by Kurdish, Arabic and Turkish cultures, located in Mülheim, Cologne. If I am drooling over my keyboard as I am writing this review, it is a clear sign that Kilim deserves its well-deserved reputation and does not need my further endorsement. :)
