I got the house noodle, and it was enough food for almost two meals (again, BIG PLATE, you were warned). Lots of various meats, and not too oily or salty. Will be back! I think the fact that the restaurant was very busy even on Friday 2nd Jan, just after the Christmas rush when everyone has spent their money, says a lot about the standard of the food and service here. We took our time over the food and even though we were the last couple in the restaurant at midnight, we did not feel rushed out of the place, and were even offered a drink on the house. Very impressed both with the food and the service, highly recommended!

As mentioned in a previous review I have moved to the area recently and unfortunately left a great…read moreChinese/schezuan place behind. Trying to find somewhere nice we tried the new Ming (take away) it had been suggested to us by a friend and we gave it a go. We tried quite a few dishes and nothing really come up to the standard of our previous place. The nicest things were the rice and the chow mein and as a Chinese restaurant I would expect these dishes to be good. Not that there was anything dramatically wrong with anything and we certainly ate the meal. But nothing to write home about. The chicken satay was dry and the peanut sauce quite watery. The spare ribs were rough and quite chewy. And altogether didn't give a great dining experience. This was however a take away and take away sometimes doesn't fare the trip well but it wasn't anywhere near nice enough to make me go and sit in the place.

The smoked shredded chicken is sweet instead of spicy (not what I'm used too) and the satay sauce tasted like curry (it was very smooth with no crunch - again, not what I'm used too). We shared main courses and again I could hardly eat it. There was no flavour to anything and the rice was so overcooked. The service is a bit hit or miss, and I didn't find anyone but the owner friendly. And the tables are so close together, forget having a private conversation. To be honest it baffles me that so many people eat here. Although my friend loves it, so it may just be my taste buds! The highlight of my evening? The apple fritters. Perfect and very deserving of two stars!

Not being from the area, we weren't sure what to order. Our incredible server, Fan, gave us a reccomendation of delicious sampler appetizers, and duck with pancakes. (She must have known from just looking at us) Being a server myself, I have a rule of thumb to always go for a servers suggestion, and boy am I glad we did! It was a perfect portion between the two of us. Fan was extremely personable and knowledgeable of the menu. She was from New York, and me being from California had a connection of common homeland. I was very impressed with her positive attitude and sweet personality. The review is more about how well she treated us and made me feel very comfortable. If you come across this woman she is a very hard worker and deserves to be tipped well and appreciated! Thank you for the lovely experience from both of us!
