This was an across the board mediocre experience. It also sounds like they went through an ownership change recently so maybe that's the reason for my bad experience.
They are kid friendly in terms of having high chairs and extra kids bowls and cups at the ready. That was very nice.
The wait staff is a bit condescending and rude but mainly I was annoyed st the fact that they couldn't get orders right. I don't eat tuna so I asked that my Chirashi be made without. No problem, I was told. Only now they brought every single Chirashi we ordered (4 of them) without tuna. I mentioned this and they didn't understand. They kept telling me I asked for mine for no tuna. Yes, but I'm not eating four. Finally, they brought out a tiny portion of tuna for the other three bowls. My co-diners didn't actually care that much but it didn't seem like that hard of a concept.
The Chirashi itself was mediocre. The rice was a day old. The fish was chopped into tiny pieces -- more like for Poke. There were only two types of fish in the Chirashi and otherwise it was a flavorless tamago piece and a piece of inari. It was weird.
The udon came with a dark brown soup. It tasted like salt. The miso was watery.
The kids bento box is $21! Seriously?? For a kids bento?? And the yakitori that it came with was so hot that you could feel the heat just by having the box placed in front of you. And this is for a child? Luckily we noticed.
All in all, it was a bad meal and I can't recommend this place. read more
