The atmosphere was nice and they gave attention to details to make you feel like you were in Japan. Our server was very attentive and spoke English, French and German and was well briefed on Ramen and Japanese culture. Great drink selection and ramen options. Food was good and would have given the place a 5 but the ramen was from a package and still in block form when arrived at table. After some patience and stirring it was good to go. Unfortunately, Leuven is not blessed with an array of food, as its more general attention is drawn to the beer scene. So, let me say that I've been to this place at least 30x and I've probably eaten every item of sashimi, nigiri, and half of the rolls. I still go back. It's cheap. And you can drink Stella for 2 euros while you fill your gullet with fresh fish for 5. No kidding. The à la carte is cheap. They can be really busy some weekends, so reserve a place, or prepare to wait. Oh and the people are super nice, despite the busy scene.

Usually in Japanese ramen, the sliced meat has both lean meat and a bit fatty part and the meat is slow stewed for hours that the fatty part is not tasted oily anymore. I noticed most high rating happened in 2015 or before and the waiter also mentioned they changed to use udon in ramen from usual ramen 2 years ago. Maybe the restaurant is taken over by new owner or had a new chef since then and the quality has gone down. We initially planned to go to another sushi restaurant next to it but because they were fully booked, we went to this one. It probably has the reason why this restaurant still had so many empty spots while another one next to it was completely full. Last but not least please any people who run a restaurant, put your heart in when preparing for your food. Such a shame.
