Gosh, I wish I would like this place better, but it was kind of painful staying here if you're…read moretechnically inclined like us. Parking? They do have parking which is good, but hope they have spaces. It's on the same block about 100 or so ft from the Casa del Balam Entrance on the right. Merida is a city so no street parking and all paid parking areas. If you get an actual space, you don't have to hand your keys over, otherwise, good luck and don't leave anything inside. Make sure you grab a ticket and have the front desk stamp it so that you don't get charged for parking. Wifi? Oh my goodness...it was god awful. We had to be on one side of the room in a specific area and cross your fingers and toes and hope that you can get something. It was probably the room we were staying in 306 or something like that which was all the way on the 3rd floor all the way in the back corner. The Wifi in the main lobby area is quite strong, so if you want to stay down there for wifi great. Otherwise hope you get a room that gets a strong signal. Room? Gosh, we didn't have any towels, but the toiletries were ok. The only thing that was disturbing were these tiny little bugs that would come out of no where crawling over all our stuff. Don't leave sweet things out or at least make sure they're sealed. Actually make sure everything you have is sealed and above the ground...though these little suckers climb the furniture to get to everything. Very gross. We had to keep our socks on the whole time cause I don't think they clean the floor very well either. We had two beds. They were ok. Oh gosh, the room also was next door to the theater which had a lot of noise at night and the curtains don't really shield the lights from it. Overall? I don't know if you'll be able to find a better place that's situated in the heart of Merida. Just expect the noises, buggies, and well come on Sunday cause the city seems to have a bicycle day which means no pollution!

What a disappointing stay. My wife and I have been to the breakfast buffet at the Conquistador…read morehotel many times and enjoyed it; the restaurant and lobby are spotless and very modern; based upon our experience with the buffet we booked a short stay at the Conquistador. While the lobby is clean and modern, the rooms are not in good repair and the rooms had no refrigerator or microwave. The first room had the tissue paper cover that rusted off and had fallen into the bathroom sink, several pieces of the furniture were in bad condition, and the water in the tub would not drain. After staying the night we asked for a new room where we found the AC was not working and the sheets were blood stained! We left immediately and found another hotel. This is totally unacceptable for any hotel, much less for a hotel of this cost that is supposed to be a high end hotel. In my opinion, the Conquistador hotel is like a shady lady in a dark bar, it looks good on the surface, but beware of the reality. Once the makeup is removed, the false eyelashes come off, the wig falls off, the dentures come out and the girdle releases the load, you see the actual product and it isn't pretty! Avoid this hotel, I would not return at half of the cost.

Great location for the price . Within walking distance to prime locations , such as shops ,…read morerestaurant , pharmacies and tour offices. Room is clean , it's noted that no blankets in rooms unless requested . But I doubt you will need them . The AC was great keep it cold when out sightseeing. The staff was very courteous and available at all times. Reason for a 4 is that it adjacent to a club and noise might be an issue at night . But I was still able to sleep thru it

5: Location 3: Sleep Quality…read more2: Rooms 4: Service 4: Value 5: Cleanliness I would compare this place to a 2-star hotel in the United States in many ways, but then there is the fact that it appears that they clean practically every single inch of the hotel on a daily basis, the lobby is much nicer and even the terrace and corridors as well. When we first arrived, I was cursing at myself for making such a terrible selection for our stay in Mérida. The room was tiny, barely big enough for the two double beds in it, and the bathroom was tiny with a toilet that had a shower wall sitting so close to it, you couldn't sit down with your legs directly in front of you, unless you didn't have legs. Then I realized, that due to our specifications of having a room with a balcony (for the smoker), we just so happened to be put in the room that seemed like an afterthought or an extension of the hotel, only for people they didn't want to come back. (Ha!) The other rooms I had chances to peak in during the daytime, looked much more logical (no walls in front of toilets), spacious and enticing. I slept okay (not great). I'm not sure if it was the snoring bear in the room, or the level of comfort. Maybe the next reviewer will be the judge. I've got my eyes on some other options for next time... Good luck and happy travels, wherever you end up!
