I am from out of state and vacation in Sarasota every year with my family, I…read morewas planning on an engagement and really didn't know where to start except that I wanted a sunset photo shoot when I asked. Nina helped me tremendously in the planning, gave me a rain date incase out date didn't work out with weather, showed me a similar shoot she had just done which was an engagement on the beach so I got an idea what I was going to be getting, and she was super personable and friendly which made it so easy. Now for the day of, she did such an amazing job keeping in touch with me and with being early and set up on the beach. I brought my fiancé out and she had no idea Nina was shooting us from beginning to end. It was awesome! She captured every moment and once we got that out of the way Nina came up and introduced herself and had us do some poses that came out incredible in the photos! She was so friendly, outgoing and so easy to work with. My family was in the Siesta Key area on vacation this past October and reached out to Liz several…read moreweeks in advance to do a beach shoot. I had contacted a couple other photographers first and all were booked. Scheduling our session with Liz was a breeze and she kept in communication with us in the days leading up to our date. We were lucky to have had perfect weather the evening of our shoot. However, we had peace of mind knowing if that hadn't been the case, we could have moved the time or rescheduled. That isn't always an option. Liz met us at the house we were renting and our group of 6 (4 adults and 2 children) walked over to the beach together. My son was being a bit of a jerk before our session and Liz was able to roll with it - somehow managing to get some really great shots of him! Liz was super easy going and came prepared with ideas for poses and goofy questions to get those genuine laughs you see in so many family photos. Our session lasted right around an hour and I loved that she knew the area well and we were able to walk to several locations that she had already picked out based on where we were staying. I'm an over planner in my normal life and being on vacation, this was such a relief for me! Liz texted several sneak peek photos the very next day, just like she promised. The rest of our edited photos arrived around 5 weeks later, which is in line with what I've experienced with other photographers. Overall, we had a great experience with Liz and highly recommend her (and looooved her British accent). If you're in the area, you should definitely check her out!

Due to the fact that I have mobility issues, four of my family members took time from work and traveled thousands of miles so we could capture five generation photos. I hired Black Pineapple Photography to capture the photos. We were to receive our digital photos approximately two to three weeks after the shoot. What I received two weeks later was an email from Liz, proprietor of Black Pineapple Photography. The email stated that my money had been refunded and the photos from our family shoot were permanently lost. WHAT? LOST? An email, not even the courtesy of a phone call or any explanation as to what had occurred. You can imagine the disappointment my family members and I experienced. Two days after the receipt of the email and after my granddaughter called Liz and complained I received a phone call with an explanation. Apparently the photographer, who took the pictures, did not change the SIM card following our shoot and shot another event over our session. Beware, as that photographer still is used by this company. There is no way to recover the photos. This error, the lost employment time, air fare, lodging and car rental expenses were great. Needless to say we cannot capture this time again or recoupe the expenses. "Beware of Black Pineapple Photography".
