Tara recreated our wedding menu from the place card alone, it was French theamed and multi course, including three different entrees (we ate well!) and along with her server Suzette they made our evening. Friendly, timely, amazing food, low pressure, cleaned everything up behind them, played with the dog! They did everything for us that night so all we had to do was roll into bed after they left! Tara mentioned she does events from small (we were just 2 ppl) up to 100+ Will use again. And I cannot wait.

We wanted to make it special, but during these difficult times it was very hard to find a place that would accommodate any private seating. That's until my husband found Chef Tara. She opened up her beautiful home and allowed us to create the most memorable 5 year anniversary, and most memorable dinner we will ever have. Chefs Tara skills in the kitchen are truly like no other. She created the most beautiful five course meal filled with everything we love. The octopus was one of the best ones we ever had. The salad was a perfect light touch and all with seasonal vegetables from her garden. Then we got into the pastas. Both homemade, and both out of this world. We finished our dinner with her Chilean Sea-bass, that could quite honestly be the best one we will ever have. On top of chefs Taras cooking skills, she also was amazing company, and opened up her home/kitchen as if we were apart of the family! Thank you Chef Tara for making our anniversary one to remember. We both look forward to the next time we get to enjoy your company, and your food that makes my mouth water just thinking about!

If you have any really knowledge about food, can cook a few nights a week, and don't like waisting money, avoid. For us, we found it wasn't worth it and really didn't like Ilia as a person. Nickled and dimed you on everything and was somehow never in the wrong. Advertised a 3 dinner a week service as $250, but it was really just $250 for her time, THEN you add in the cost of all the ingredients (and she always bought the most expensive version of everything) +$15 delivery fee (even though she is always right by our house to shop at Mom's), +$8 kitchen use fee, +$30 every other week somehow for new bottle of olive oil, etc. Wound up being $400-$450 each week for what amounted to a few lunches and dinners for the family (3 of us, and our son is 7 and barely ate her food). Couldn't wait to try to charge for an ice pack she thought we lost. If she is ever late or misses a day for whatever reason (parade, weather, you name it), there is never any money back. Also can't fully cook all the diets she claims she can do. Made a lot of mistakes when I needed low fodmap, but somehow we always ate the cost. At the end, won't even bring us back the 4 containers we paid $80 for and said "we can pick it up." Really not the type of person you want to be doing business with.

Throughout it all, Renée was with us every step of the way during all the ups and downs. She was kind, flexible and very supportive. It really is a testament to how much she cares about her clients. Not only did we find an amazing level of service with MadeByRk, but we experienced a true partnership and friendship as well. When the happy day finally arrived, Renée and her team made us feel so comfortable and at ease (even helping calm a mini meltdown with a much needed hug and alleviating any and all Covid concerns). She helped coordinate everything, including seating charts (she even measured the venue to make sure all the tables and chairs would fit), day of stationery, making sure our vibe and theme came through and bespoke food stations with the most pleasant and thoughtful attendants. The food was great, especially the cake and desserts (her buttercream frosted chocolate cake is heavenly and she made these adorable themed cookies just for us). In addition she provided beautiful decorations and flower arrangements, which they set up throughout the whole venue, as well as setting up a lovely champagne toast for us. Then she came back the next day to even help further for all post-event necessities and clean up (including preserving the top of our wedding cake for our anniversary). We can't say enough about her and her team. They made the best day of our life even that much better. Renée and her team have our heartfelt appreciation for everything. Truly one of a kind! Thank you for a wonderful experience.

I've met, mentored, trained, worked along side of, for and with amazing groups of individuals all encompassing this world of creatives. So this brings me to this...how did I not discover Jason's Kitchen until recently? Where has this Chef been and why has he not blown up bigger than he has?!?! Jason is actually a classmate of mine from my hometown in New Jersey. I've followed him lightly on social media platforms through his culinary journey from birth of his unfathomable determination and skill to break out on his own - a self taught Chef running a full service catering company. Encompassing Private and Personal dining experiences in the luxury of your private home or event space, Chef Jason brings not only his complete professionalism, but also a mind blowing culinary exploration of perfectly balanced ingredients that not only touch each of your five senses, but envokes a feeling of complete bliss. Each dish is thought out with culinary precision and executed beautifully. You can taste each ingredient as it rolls around your mouth and tongue. Balanced with the simplicity of what brought this dish to concept. This culinary journey his menu takes you on is unreal. I have never worked for or with a more talented Chef, who's personal energy is calm and humble, and confident not cocky. We had a dinner party to celebrate a birthday and a divorce with 9 close friends. Chef Jason, his Sous Chef June, and our lovely servers Karl and Cara really made this evening special. Everything flowed seamlessly. Any anxiety I had walked out the door as soon as this team went to work. It was a quiet calm and focused energy. They also didn't mind me being in the kitchen watching and tasting and asking a million questions. I can not recommend enough Jason's Kitchen for your next event. Exceptional! Thank you Chef Jason and Sous June. You blew our minds away!

My now-husband and I were searching for chefs to cater our small, intimate wedding of 13 people in our home. We found Jason on Yelp and from his first friendly email and sample menu, we knew it was a perfect fit. Thank you, Yelp! It is not hyperbole when I tell you that Jason's Kitchen is some of the best food you will ever eat. Jason and June are phenomenal chefs; to eat their Michelin Star-worthy food in your own home feels like a decadent privilege reserved for royalty. A few of our favorite dishes were the yellowtail crudo (to die for), tuna tartare (floated up to heaven), mini french onion soup bites (became reincarnated), burrata salad (was reborn), paella (lived a full other life), and rack of lamb with pesto sauce (found enlightenment). They worked with attentiveness, diligence, and grace, but what was most impressive was the down-to-earth, calm, and good-natured attitude throughout the night. The spectacular food AND their presence was truly an amazing addition to our day. Special shout-out to Jason for being a fellow Petty fan. The server, Marybeth, and the bartender, Anthony, carried the same good-natured, relaxed, and kind presence. Marybeth was gracious and friendly, and I swear my kitchen was cleaner at the end of the night than before. I only had a vacuum and small dustpan and brush on-hand and Marybeth used that little brush to clean everything because she didn't want to disturb us with too much noise with the vacuum. The small things! Anthony prepared copious amounts of cocktails with a smile and a good laugh throughout the day and evening. The drinks were as smooth as his pours and I am fairly certain every family member personally bonded with him in a way that I wouldn't be surprised if he is invited to another family wedding. Or a golf match. Overall, my husband and I agree that Jason's Kitchen was the best decision we made on that day, as well as deciding to spend our lives together. I'm now scheming other events we can have just to work with Jason's Kitchen again. 1 month wedding anniversary? And then again for our 2 months? Jason, we'll be in touch. In all seriousness, I would like to extend the most heartfelt thank you to this team. We are beyond grateful for your help to make our day the most special. I'll start off this way, I'm probably the only person whose favorite meal this week in 90° July…read moreweather included half a quart of warm, Smoky Red Pepper Soup with Basil Croutons ($10). I'll admit, a small part of the reason is because I keep my apartment very cold and really love soups. The primary reason though is that I found an executive chef who is a culinary genius that will cater and deliver phenomenal gourmet food directly to my door at very reasonable prices. This was one of the best original soups that I've tasted in a very long while. A great thick, creamy texture, good heat (without being too spicy), and you could taste the flavor of the ingredients, not just get overwhelmed by the red pepper. The taste and texture worked in perfect concert together, just like the cream and the red pepper. I've been paying ten bucks a quart for deli-quality soups during this quarantine. This was certainly in a much different class of quality, for the same exact price. Once people catch on to this amazing value, I'll likely end up paying far more for the same caliber of cuisine. However, supporting a well-deserving and hardworking small business with an honest and positive is more important to me than saving a little money. By the way, in addition to his well-honed, epicurean chops, Chef Sebastian is also a real sweetheart of a guy. I know a lot of great chefs and they're not all...oh, what's a good euphemism to use here? As good at dealing with people as they are with knives. Well, Chef Sebastian is wonderful with both. A true professional and a good person. Alright, now let me review some more of his food. In the late 1990s, I lived in New Orleans. So, I definitely know a thing or two about great-tasting cornbread. Chef Sebastian makes excellent cornbread. Not too crumbly, but also not sticky. There's nice pieces of whole corn and little pieces of jalapenos inside. Remember, I'm not a big fan of spicy, but this cornbread was perfect. Not too spicy and it was pre-cut into small squares for me and filled an entire sizeable container. I've eaten a few pieces with 4 meals already and I still have leftovers. His portions are immense. That goes double for the Slow Smoked Beer Marinated Local Shortrib ($27 with corn and cornbread). I've never been given that much shortrib in a single portion intended for one person. I LOVE his homemade BBQ sauce so much that I used it abundantly, put the shortribs in potato roll buns and served them up similar to pulled pork sandwiches, only these were far better because they were beer marinated shortribs. There was enough for 4.5 overstuffed sandwiches. My executive chef friend ate one, along with a piece of cornbread, and was extremely impressed with both as well. The Smoked Whole Trout ($14) was actually a bit overwhelming. Even with my big appetite, I certainly couldn't finish it. It's an entire large cooked trout. For $14 and hand delivered to your door by the chef himself? Where else will you get that type of value? Nowhere! Certainly not near Port Washington, where I live. I ate half of the fish the first day that the food arrived because obviously it's seafood. Although, I did decide to sneak Chef S's New Jersey grilled corn on the cob into this meal, even though it really came to compliment another dish. I didn't want to wait though. The fish was cooked nicely and traveled very well. A nice thickness, easy to cut the meat away, and just a nice smokey flavor throughout. However, I avoided the recommended horseradish sauce that came with it because I was in the mood for more of a fish flavor. I wasn't disappointed. The corn was tasty too. The 24 Hour Slow Smoked BBQ Pork Shoulder ($21 with corn and cornbread) was another massive creation. Once again, I had leftovers. You can taste the time it took to cook this. Completely fall off-the-bone type of dish and so savory. Extremely tender and also beautifully complimented by Chef's homeade BBQ sauce. Honestly, that stuff could go with anything. It's delicious. Local Jersey Peach Crisp with Homemade Whipped Cream ($7). My favorite dessert from anywhere this month. It's a giant piece made for 2 people, as long as one of them isn't me. LOL. I devoured about 3/4 of it because it was so incredible. Thin fresh peach slices with a deliciously sugary crust. This dessert could start an addiction. Just before writing this paragraph I polished off the remaining 1/4 piece left in my fridge. By the way, his food and containers keep very well. The food is delicious, but the portions are huge! Pickle Spears ($8). These are smaller sized pickle spears. However, there's enough of them to fill the jar and they're obviously pickled that way to provide much more surface area and access to the flavors of Chef's special blend of peppers and seasonings. They're very good. If you like pickles, you'll totally like these. Lots of flavors: garlic, peppers, mustard seeds, and some others. Be careful though, these bite back. Everything is PERFECT!
