My fiancé and I got engaged in Jan 2019 and after venue shopping and planning, we were referred to Yvette in May 2019. At the time, we decided to not do a pop up since we ended up deciding to do a wedding on a cruise in 2020. Well obviously that fell apart thanks to the pandemic! Yvette was there to save the day! We were hoping things would get better in 2020 but COVID cases kept rising so we said screw it, let's do the pop up wedding! And we are SO happy that we did! We didn't want to do a huge party and spend thousands on a wedding but we got the upscale wedding look for so much less. Yvette and her team were offering these COVID packages (see their Instagram to see if still on going) and we had an officiant, seating for 25, cake, photographer venue and decorations all for under $2000. My family was worried that since we were spending significantly less than the average wedding cost that it wouldn't be as nice. In fact, we were criticized prior to the wedding, but then the day of the wedding arrived and they were in awe. It was so romantic and beautiful. Yvette and her team added flowers, candles and just made the night so magical. The cake was delicious and over all the experience was dreamy and magical. Pop Up Weddings Houston also go beyond the pop up wedding bookings. Yvette does weddings of all sizes! They actually do wedding give aways on their instagram so check it out if you're recently engaged! They also work with vendors/partners who provide live streaming services, photo booths and more! Anyways, major thanks to Pop Up Wedding Houston! I am totally referring my engaged friends to them! He was sensitive to any issues that my husband and I brought into our counseling sessions, which I really appreciated. The sessions that we had were extremely beneficial in our marriage. Thomas taught us that he could never prevent us from fighting, but he could teach us to "fight well", and he definitely did that! The premarital work we did with him 6 months prior to our big day made our day [and our relationship] that more special. By the time our wedding day rolled around Thomas knew us extremely well and was able to officiate the wedding with a level of comfort and professionalism that we will always look back on with awe. Thomas was amazing! The moment we met him (interviewing him) we knew he was the counselor for us. He is real, honest, and kind. We were looking for someone who could talk about real life issues and situations that might come up and Thomas always had a great example to help explain the best way to work through those issues. Our favorite quote from him is "This issue will always be existent in your marriage and it's how you communicate and work through it that will keep your marriage together and successful." Those words were so comforting because it isn't about changing someone, it's about loving them for who they are and how to work through issues. Every marriage will have issues and people are stubborn and stuck in their ways (especially us), and Thomas helps your recognize when those issues fester up and create a way to work through them. Thomas provides you with tools for a successful marriage, they are simple and help you communicate better with other, and honestly that's what it's all about... Communication!!!! Thomas will walk you through a detailed personality test called the Birkman Method. It's goal is to define leading behaviors and perform a personality assessment of an individual. At first we felt apprehensive, but when we sat down with him to go over the results we learned a LOT about ourselves and each other. Well I loved it! We learned so much and from time to time we reflect on our results when we are making decisions and working through issues. It really helps you understand who your partner is and why he/she is the way they are. You think you know now, but wait till you get your results, it's mind blowing! Throughout our counseling (about 8 sessions) we both felt comfortable with Thomas. He was easy to talk to and a fantastic listener. We are thankful for Thomas and the words of wisdom he gave us. We whole heartedly recommend Thomas to walk you through one of the best chapters of your life. You will learn a lot and hopefully strengthen your relationship with your best friend as we have.
