That being said, they also have to be incredibly efficient, professional and compassionate, because it's usually a damn uncomfortable experience. Missie CoCo is absolutely fantastic because it ticks all of these boxes and more! Missie CoCo is in a cute little bungalow off of Chapel street, and from the second you walk through the door you'll feel relaxed. You're kind of wafted with scents of citrus as you walk down the hall to the front desk. Seriously, I'm not kidding - this place smells absolutely amazing. They have a great array of beauty products to check out while you wait for your appointment, and they'll usually offer you some water as well. The ladies here offer all kinds of services, from make-up to waxing, and I've never heard a single bad thing about any of them. They have great bedside manner and you always end up walking out of there feeling confident and ready to face the world! I usually see the same woman each visit, but occasionally she's been away so I've had to see someone else, and every single beautician has been outstanding. Missie CoCo passes the ultimate test for me - it's a place I would (and have!) recommend to a friend. We were running way, way late after a wrong turn in Kinglake National Park turned our 8km hike into a 13km hike. I felt positively awful, but instead of berating us for arriving 15min after our booking, the staff expressed sympathy for all of our running around, showed us into our treatment room without any rush or fuss, and turned their attention immediately to our relaxation and well-being. Each of us got exactly what we were after: a soothing relaxation massage for my partner, therapeutic deep-tissue work for me. After our treatment, we were encouraged to stay and rest for as long as we wanted. The duo massage was $235 for 60 minutes (two people), which I thought was very reasonable. All-in-all, I was pleased both with the treatment and the exceptional customer service. I would definitely come back here the next time I'm in Yarra Valley for the day and want to give myself a little pampering.

I'm still convinced it's 99% the skanky stripper type and only 1% mums. Tacky vaginal jewels aside, Brazilica is a pretty good salon. It's hygienic, they use quality wax and know their way around your bits. They can also wax your other body parts (who wants to look hot in a bikini but still be sporting a moustache?) and do men's bits too. All the products they use are naturally based and organic where possible, which I appreciate. If you want to get a good deal, become a fan of Brazilica on Facebook and you'll see any specials and promotions they have.

The discreetness is perfect for guys who want to spoil themselves with some relaxation... like for example a pedicure. So I have never had a pedicure but both of my sisters and brother in law swear by them, so I thought for one of my sister's birthdays I would treat her to one and get myself one at the same time. With my other siblings being pedicure aficionados they recommended populars places which were generally 90% female and not so discreet. Endota Melbourne sprang to mind as I was treated to a massage a year back for my birthday using a Red Balloon Voucher (do not recommend these things as they are so painful to use). Let me just say my issues with Red Balloon made me need a massage even more, but thankfully Endota Melbourne were extremely professional and sorted it all out. Ok so back to the pedicure, so the beauticians made both of us feel very much relaxed and the tea they give you before and after is so amazing.
