Days Inn - Lobby!

Days Inn

We were so happy with our experience over Easter Weekend at the Days Inn…read more We were challenged to find a hotel in Yorkton that had a suite with a separate room and a pool (my sister's request), that was pet friendly and had a continental breakfast (my parent's request) and that was affordable (my request). The Days Inn off Broadway accommodated all of our requests in a family friendly, comfortable, clean hotel. Check in was a breeze and most of our rooms (2 of 3) were available prior to check in at 4. It was like Christmas for me as my whole family was getting together for the first time since August - so the Hubba Hubby and I arrived early so we could deck out the room with some of our family's favourites including magazines, candies and more. The rooms were awesome - the pet friendly room and the family suite both had a couch in the room, making for great spots to hang out. But we actually found ourselves mostly gathering in the lobby in front of the beautiful fireplace in the comfy, oversized chairs. With the beautiful lights and fun rug, this felt just like a living room and we enjoyed the space a lot. It was also right beside the open business centre so if you hopped onto the computer, you were still able to be part of the action. There were a lot of families staying this weekend so the breakfast area was buzzing at 8am, but there was still enough room for everyone. They had high chairs available for the littlest ones and simple breakfast including yogurt, bread, pastries, fruit, cereal, eggs and sausage. And I think everyone loved the pancake machine that pops out 2 pancakes at a time. The coffee machine was always on and accessible day or night. The pool and whirlpool are small, but are perfect for this hotel. The bonus is an awesome waterslide that is super kid friendly. My three year old nephew was super comfortable to climb up by himself while we waited for him at the bottom. And the few times that we did go with him, you just fly down the spiral slide! FYI, Auntie and Uncle (myself and the Hubba Hubby) can make some pretty great splashes! The location is perfect - close to the mall and restaurants (everything from Subway to Browns Social Hall to Mr. Mikes, Boston Pizza, Tim Hortons, Wendy's and more..). Superstore is across the highway and Wal-Mart too is close if you need groceries for the room. Bonus, all the rooms come with a mini fridge. The hotel served all of our needs and was extremely family friendly. We would definitely stay again the next time we invade Yorkton.

All around great hotel! Fair price - $135 for two queens…read more(extra $65 for taxes which sucks but not there fault) Very clean Excellent customer service Nice pool and hot tub Lots of amenities all around in walking distance. No complaints. If I am ever in Yorkton again I'll stay here for sure.

I stayed at the Yorkton, SK Comfort Inn & Suites on the night of Saturday, February 24th. I was on…read moremy way from Edmonton to the Peterborough area in Ontario and this was my first stop. Because I had 3 cats with me, I decided to book a hotel room in advance so I could be sure to get a pet-friendly room. I'm glad I did, as when I arrived at the hotel around 9pm it was busy. The receptionist commented that it was busier than they expected. Checking in took a little longer than anticipated, as the receptionist had to change my room from one with 2 beds to one with 1 bed. This was fine with me, as I only needed one bed, but it took her a little while to do this on the computer. The unfortunate part of checking in was that I asked for a room near a side or back entrance. Carrying 3 cats in from the car, plus all their stuff and my stuff is a pain. I didn't want to have to walk very far since I'd have to make at least 4 trips (and I'd already been on the road for 8.5 hours). The room I ended up getting was closest to the main entrance and there was no parking available very close to the main entrance. I ended up having to park farther than I wanted and the walk to/from the car from farther than I would have liked. But I did somehow manage. The room was nice and clean -- exactly what I'd expect from a Comfort Inn. I had to laugh at the sign on the front desk though, as it said they'd won an award for the most improved rooms. I'm not so sure that's something to brag about because how bad do your rooms need to be that improving them gets you an award?! The cats all behaved themselves that night and I was able to pull the car closer to the main entrance to load the car (thank god). Check-out was easy and faster than check-in, and my cat Ben helped me with that, much to the delight of the front desk staff. I didn't end up getting anything to eat from the breakfast area as I wanted to get on the road and didn't want to keep running back inside the hotel. Overall, it was a pleasant experience. I would recommend the hotel to anyone looking for a place to stay in Yorkton, but I don't know many people who'd be going through that area. My only complaint is that the KFC next door (within walking distance) closed at 10pm and had a limited menu 10 minutes before closing, so I didn't get anything to eat for dinner that night.
