I usually do it via phone or email, and they reply very quickly. I have done chemical peels and a BDR facial here before. The esthetician is very thorough. At many spas, I feel they either don't clean my face properly, they don't put enough product on all the areas of my face, or are rushed. It's not like that here. I always feel so relaxed. The esthetician is very professional and she always cleans and treats every inch of my face and neck. The treatments themselves are great. The chemical peels really help to clear my complexion and calm breakouts. The BDR facial also cleared and brightened my face. Highly recommend! Their equipment is new and not dated, so they really give results. They recommend products as well, but aren't pushy in getting you to buy from them. They even recommended some drug store products to help with overall skin. So they really care about getting you results and respecting your budget. Overall, great place to get your facials done.

I was paired with Eleni who did my facial-- I couldn't be more pleased with her as she was extensively knowledgeable and relatable when it came to skincare. Being educated on the do's and do not's is something that's super important to me whenever I'm about to treat my skin or try something new as my skin is acne prone and sensitive. From start to finish, Eleni was vocal about all the steps she used in the facial. It made me really comfortable. Best thing, she was focused on putting my skin first. I never felt like she was chasing after anything else other than perfecting my skin. I'm pleased to say after my first visit I've booked for a second appointment.

I got the organic facial after having a consult with Jen about what my skin needs. The facial was great, she also added a scalp and neck massage into the session! I noticed a lighter complexion and decreased breakouts a few days after the appointment. I had no bad skin reactions to the products! In summary, if you're looking for a trusted place for a facial, pick the Facial Boutique. Heidi did an amazing job with my lip blush. The overall process took about 3 hours. This includes…read moreboth the in depth consultation and the actual lip blushing. Heidi made sure to explain the process fully and carefully created the colour that I was looking to achieve. To help her with the colour I had in mind, I brought the lip tint that I normally used. She then crafted the colour with her pigments and ensured that I was happy with the colour prior to applying it. Keeping in mind that everyone's pain tolerance level is different, I did not feel uncomfortable or in pain during the actual process (numbing cream was used before the process begun). Heidi made sure I was comfortable throughout the entire lip blushing process. Upon completion, she thoroughly explained the healing and aftercare process. Again, keeping in mind that everyone's skin will react differently, my lips were pretty swollen after. However, as advised by Heidi, the swelling subsided after 2 days and the whole healing process took about 6 days for all the scabs to come off. Thank you Heidi for doing such a wonderful job!

While browsing places to get microblading done for my mom, I came across Oh My Lash and Brow on Yelp. What stood out the most, were the before and after pictures of Heidi's previous clientele. Add in the $250 for $450 voucher and the relative close distance to my house, and I was sold. Next, it was easy calling in and making an appointment for the next day; and Heidi gave useful directions over the phone, for getting to her unit number within the plaza - she is located on the second floor; & once you get up the stairs, there are large signs above each door in the hallway letting you know of which business is which. The overall process took about 3 hours, with the majority of the time being spent on the pre-procedure tasks including: initial information session on microblading, consultation, and sketching of the eyebrows. My mother is a very picky woman so they had to be perfect before we could move on haha - I appreciate Heidi's patience. The actual procedure took anywhere from 30-60 minutes and a lot of numbing agent is applied to the area before and during the procedure to eliminate any pain sensations. Heidi also continually checked in with my mom asking her if she was ok and/or feeling any pain. Another great point to mention was Heidi's obvious knowledge and experience performing this procedure. She gave us plenty of information in the beginning regarding risks, signs of infection to look for following the procedure, and she was sure to explain the sterility of the microblading tools she would be using. [Cool to note that she even staples the freshly opened package to each client's consult form.] With my mom and I both being nurses, we were very happy to see that detail and attention were put into the health safety of the procedure, which involves needles and the breakage of skin, therefore carrying a high potential of transmission of infections. Overall, my mom and I were very happy with the results, the entire process and this wonderful microblading experience with Heidi. She gifted us with another voucher to help spread the word and I will definitely be sure to pass it to a friend. It is well worth the time and money spent! Thank you again Heidi for your professional and courteous service, we will see you again in 3 months time for the first follow-up!

To say I was nervous going into my appointment would be an understatement. For as long as I can…read moreremember, I've been plagued by the family gift that my grandfather's side of the family so lovingly bestowed upon us - sebaceous cysts. Truthfully, there are much worse things to be taunted by, but these pesky, unsightly things made for less than favourable hair styling conditions. But after collecting an array of approximately 15 of them of various sizes, and getting over the humour found in the game of 'whose cyst is the largest' amongst my family (I'm the reigning champion), and awkward conversations with hair stylists who had all seemed to have that curious, perplexed look on their face when they saw them - I decided enough was enough and 3 of these puppies were coming out. My doctor referred me to Dr. vanVliet - I was initially a bit uneasy since two of her RateMD reviews pegged her as being callous; but I wanted to make my own judgement calls and boy were those reviews wrong. Her office is extremely inviting with great music in the background, calm colours and nice decor. Her staff is comprised of individuals whose utmost commitment is to quality, customer service. From Lynda the patient co-ordinator at the front desk; to Franca the RN, who was so kind and patient with my anxiety while preparing me for the procedure. To the hero of the show - Dr. vanVliet. She is personable, very knowledgeable and straight forward. There is absolutely nothing callous about her whatsoever. In fact, upon learning that I was nervous, she dropped a bit of a 'fun fact' into my lap that had me chuckling, immediately cutting (pun intended) any lingering anxiety I had into smithereens. I appreciated the fact that she was committed to educating me both before and during the procedure. Not only that, both her and Franca kept the conversation flowing in a way that by the time I realized they were distracting me to my benefit, two out of the three cysts were already removed. I will 100% be back here to remove the remainder of my collection of cysts and will strongly recommend her and her team to any of my family members who are ready to make the plunge and remove those pesky cysts. Thanks for giving me my head back, Dr. vanVliet!

I was there to get the same type of cyst removed from my scalp. After "freezing" the area, she begin cutting into my scalp. The freezing had not fully set in, and even though I mentioned this and was in obvious pain, she continued. All I could do it seems was endure the pain, although I'm sure it didn't hurt her a bit! It took all of 5 minutes and I was done. After a week, I had the stitches removed. A few days later, the pain in the massive scar she left (the size of a nickle) increased and there was inflammation and bleeding. I went to my family doctor and he pulled a piece of stitching from inside my scalp over an inch long. She could offer a refund (which she didn't) and perform another operation for free and I would never go back nor recommend her services!

I normally don't write lengthy reviews for places I visit on yelp but my experience was so unique…read moreand wonderful, a yelp review was the LEAST I could do. Here's a little background: I am not a Toronto native, and flew into the city a mere 2 days after having my lips injected with Juvederm (from a doctor in Los Angeles). I noticed unsual swelling but was assured by the first nurse that it would go down. She was wrong. My lip was incredibly swollen and mis-shapen, and it was NOT getting any better. I knew I had to look into finding someone out here in Toronto to help me. I was on a mission to find a reputable plastic surgery office or any salon, for that matter, that offered injections in hopes that someone would know what they were doing and could help me. I called about 15 places. Leaving messages and talking to anyone I could . For the most part no one was of much help. Until I received a call from Shantelle! (the manager) of the New You spa. My prayers were answered, one of the nurses heard my voicemail and immediately put me in touch with Shantelle who made my situation an absolute priority, talking to me on the phone, and getting me in the room with one of her recommended nurses the NEXT DAY. She even came to meet me and help in every possible way. I can't tell you what a relief it was. Within a matter of hours I was in the office, given a few injections to undo the mess, and home. Heather was the nurse who was helping me, she tried everything in her power to alleviate the swelling and remove the existing filler. She was kind, professional, and knows her products! Within hours my lip was already looking better and was at such ease. My emotional state when I went into the office, to the time I left was night and day. The care and overall customer service of this office was incredible and unlike any other office experience I've had. It was a shame to be at a place like New You under my terrible circumstances; unable to appreciate the office for what it was. But just being there an hour and looking at their "menu" if you will, I really can't wait to go back for an actual warrented procedure or service! (Especially Heather, she knows so much about fillers, which is truly an art, and if anyone needs someone that knows what they're doing, GO TO HER!) All in all, the staff here are incredible, professional, kind, and know they're products! They even sent me home with a "Reginica" balm that was to help with any bruising... that I am now addicted to. THANK YOU SHANTELLE AND HEATHER AND NEW YOU! Go to this salon or any New You (run by Shantelle for that matter) if you want to be truly taken care of. This office single handedly saved the rest of my trip here in Toronto and I will MOST DEFINITELY be back. Phew!
