I ended up missing a court date due to being in ICU. I promptly called the courts when I was discharged from the hospital and was issued a warrant of failed to appear. I was told by court clerk because its late on Friday to keep my medical papers with me all week end and be at court first thing Monday. That Sunday night I was pulled over even tho I told the cop of my illness and showed the papers from hospital stay I was still arrested humiliated in my year for all to see and took to jail where once again I showed them I was unable to leave the hospital because I was in ICU because I was very sick from sepsis and could not leave or I would get sicker or possibly die. They read and shrugged it off like I intentionally missed court. That morning I went to court I showed the judge and the prosecutor my papers of my illness and that I was in septic shock and in ICU. They read and haha didn't care I was still charged the failed to appear fines. I did turn in a motion and haha it was denied WTF!!! I was IN ICU I WENTNINTO SEPTIC SHOCK I HAD LINES RUNNING IN AND OUT OF ME I DUD NOT MISS COURT BECAUSE I WAS NOT RESPONSIBLE I MISSED COURT BECAUSE I HAD A VERY DEADLY SICKNESS!! Had to come here for a disability hearing for my late mother in law…read more The court room is hard to find, I wish they had signs, so glad we were early and there was an employee to point us in the right direction, it's literally in a hallway. My major complaint is when the hearing was over, we were not told the time frame we would hear anything or where to submit the travel expenses we incurred. so that lead to a call back. And our hearing was over an hour late, but that is none of their fault. Parking is a bit of a headache unless you know that there is a garage across the street. Overall it's what is expected from a government building. Security was super tight which was a bit of peace of mind, but overall things could be done better.

This is when I stepped in and said you can not deny him this right, I suggest you give him the proper paperwork to fill out. You ladies do not make the final call and outcome.. The referee does. The guy who had never been through this before was just about to listen to them that if he opposed the raise and lost then they would raise his property taxes even higher than stated. Once again, I said that's a lie and why are y'all lying to everyone? Well one of the guys working had security on the radio so they could listen to what was going on. Then all of a sudden the main lady who worked there tried to jump over the counter at me but then decided to use the side door, followed by 3 other workers... one female, and two males. The main lady came running at me with her hand in a fist. This was 4 people against little. I was trying to get away when one lady yelled at me to GTFO... upon entering the first floor where the guards were, I said to them, wow what is up with those bags up on the next floor, they kicking me out. All the guards said, yes they are bitches, we get soo many complaints about them all the time... and they always ring for help for a storm they start. The lady had heard this n said he buzzed down for assistance. The 4 of the guards said, we watched everyone who went up and we listened to the whole thing over the radio. Both sides have a ticket system and you just wait for your number to be called. Im usually in and out in 15 mins tops. All employees that have helped me have been courteous and friendly. Building is kept clean and there is a bathroom available which is also kept clean.

There is continued construction in the building to create additional space for both departments. Currently, the Lincoln Police Academy is being run at this location. Parking is free, across the street near K Street even though staff parking is located on the premises. The facility is fairly modernized except for the fitness center which is soon to be improved.

The historic Courthouse stands on a prominent square in the town of Fairbury. Architect, J. C…read more Holland (Kansas), designed the brick and limestone Romanesque Revival building which opened in 1892. R. K. Allen constructed the Courthouse with the help of local residents. The stones were cut by hand. A central clock tower is the focal point of the building. This is the second Courthouse to serve the County. Inside, original oak woodwork shows 130 years of beautiful patina. Gas brass chandeliers were converted to gas at some point. The marble tile floors show years of wear. Unfortunately, the courtroom was locked so I could not enter. There were no staff available to open the room for a peek. There is a display case on the main floor with artifacts that tells the history of the building. An original program from the dedication ceremony is in the case. The Jefferson County Honor Roll hangs on the first floor. A prized Gatling Gun is encased in the lobby area with its history. On the grounds outside is a memorial to the Pony Express. There is free parking around the Square. The Courthouse is accessible to the Public with open doors. Worth a visit if you like history and architecture.
