History
Established in 2015.
I began teaching yoga part time in 2012. While observing the number of students with chronic injuries that were showing up in my classes I sought further education to better understand the complexities of our physical and emotional bodies.
This search landed me at Ajna Yoga in Victoria, BC, which propelled me to my next level of yoga teacher training. For the next 3 years, I traveled back and forth from Newfoundland to British Columbia, completing my 1000hr Yoga Therapist Certification in 2017. In 2015, I established Yoga in Motion, teaching Therapeutic Yoga full time - with the goal of making yoga more accessible to the general population.
Slowing down, backing off and more deeply tuning into the experiences within the body and mind are the basic principles of therapeutic yoga practice. These principles, combined with educational information, empower students to improve functional movements with the intent of promoting safety in each posture.
Meet the Business Owner: Neala G.
As the founder of Yoga in Motion, my goal is to make yoga more accessible to individuals living with or recovering from injury or illness - or those looking to improve their overall health and wellness.
I began practicing yoga in 2006 as a way to manage chronic pain caused by a repetitive strain injury. Through yoga, I was able to discover a sense of ease in my body and mind while developing tools to effectively manage my pain.
Wanting to share this knowledge, I completed my 200hr Yoga Teacher training in 2012, and in 2017 I completed the 800 hour Yoga Therapist program at Ajna Yoga, in Victoria, BC.
I work with clients dealing with chronic pain, back pain, anxiety, depression, PTSD and other health concerns that affect mind-body health.
My education, combined with my calming presence, and sense of humour offers a safe and welcoming environment that is accessible to everyone!
