He was a caring and skilled surgeon. Hopefully, he is enjoying his well-deserved retirement in a warmer climate.

He laid there for 6 hours and no one even came to check on him or see if he was ok or needed anything. He finally pulled his monitors off thinking it would get their attention in the nurses station. Still no one came. He finally took his wires out to them and asked where they wanted him to put them. He told them no one had been in there to check on him or see if he needed anything. The head nurse literally said "well it doesn't look like you're dying." Very sarcastic.ally. Their care and attitude were totally unacceptable and unprofessional. There was not even a chair to sit on. They saw me come in with a walker because I had my knee replaced. Had to just stand. They are very uncaring! We called an ambulance because he had a seizure. they were not eve going to address that issue until I pushed the issue. Never go there!!!!

That is one of the reasons I have remained a patient for about five years, why my husband began coming a few years later, and why even some of my grandchildren now come here as well. Until recently, I have always handled my own billing directly. At the end of my appointments, I typically stop at the front desk to schedule my next visit or pay my bill. If insurance did not cover the expected amount, I was contacted, and I made sure the balance was paid. At the end of March, my husband received a letter from a collection agency stating that he owed a balance. He called the agency immediately to find out why, only to learn that the bill was actually mine, even though it had been placed in his name. At no point was I contacted directly to let me know that I had an outstanding balance. I then called the financial department at MFD to ask several questions: Why was I not told about this balance during my last visit? Why was I never contacted directly about the bill? Why was I never called regarding the balance before it was sent to collections? I was told, "because he is the head of household." I found that response inappropriate and unacceptable. I handled my own bills before my husband ever became a patient at this office, and I never agreed to have my husband made responsible for my account simply because he is the insurance subscriber. To me, this feels at minimum inappropriate and arguably discriminatory. My husband providing the insurance coverage does not make him responsible for my personal financial obligations, nor does it justify failing to contact me directly. What was equally disappointing was the lack of concern shown when I raised this issue. This is a serious matter, as billing errors and collection actions can affect a person's credit and financial standing. Unfortunately, when I came into the office for my appointment today, I also felt uncomfortable because the staff's behavior toward me was noticeably different. The usual friendliness was replaced with a more distant attitude, and there appeared to be whispering about me that was unprofessional and upsetting. To be clear, my complaint is not about Colleen, who is an excellent dentist, nor about the majority of the staff, who have generally been wonderful. However, one poor experience can significantly damage trust and confidence in a practice. I would appreciate the opportunity to speak directly with Colleen about this matter and the way it was handled. Please contact me directly using my phone number listed in my file. Sincerely, Gina Chambers

I absolutely hate that I went here for work. I've had nothing but bad experiences here! Here is my…read moreexperience, so hopefully you don't make the God awful mistake of coming here. First my daughter: When she was 4, she had to have 2 teeth filled. They had me in the waiting room, and I start hearing my 4 YEAR OLD daughter being held down screaming while drilling and didn't give a crap if she was comfortable or scared or in pain. She is now terrified of the dentist, which we all know will likely not go away for a while. So thanks Markland family dental for the trauma. For me: I had very bad genetics and needed our teeth pulled and got immediate dentures. With me, they decided to do the tops by themself then do the bottoms a month later. I didn't know this until I woke up with only top dentures. The plan was to have it all done at once. They gave me pills before coming in to basically knock me out. They ended up giving me 6 more pills in office because i wasn't responding. I woke up at home and passed out in the bathroom because I was basically overdosed on anesthesia pills while I was there. Fast forward a month, and I get my bottoms done. They left a piece of a tooth in my gums, which I still have. They didn't put the bottom plate in my mouth so I never got used to them. I still can't wear my bottoms. I am too scared to go back honestly so I just count my losses. My husband: He was the smart one. He went to a different dentist to get the extractions. But the dentures still was made at Markland family dental. He got his dentures 1 year ago, and they didn't fit right, they made him gag and puke every time he tries to put them in. In order to get them fixed, we need an appointment at Markland. We have been trying to get in since November 2022. They tell us they need to verify and get approval from insurance and they will call us back. But A YEAR LATER and we STILL DON'T HAVE AN APPOINTMENT!!!!!!! He has spent a year with bad dentures making him puke and they don't give a flying rats ass about it. I am beyond amazed about how horribly this dentist office treats its patients and is too LAZY to actually help people! Screw this place. If you care about your kids or your dental health, stay away!!!

They are pathetic…read more If you schedule the first appointment if the day, but some one else walked in one minute before you, they will be seen first. Always!!! runs about 30-60 minutes behind. This is because they somehow think a doctor (or physicians assistant) can actually get enough information or if the patient AND do their charting in fifteen minutes. I went in today for antibiotics to rid myself of a persistent cough. Seen by the mush-mouth nurse to take vitals (only) 30 minutes after my appointment time. I had to ask her to repeat herself on every question. Twenty minutes after she came and went, the PA came in. She was nice, sympathetic and patient. Said she'd send most of my prescriptions to the local Meijer. The one for Concerta I have to do myself (fine, stupid controlled substance laws, but I digress..). So I drive across Kokomo and deliver it. I asked if they'd received the other scripts (not yet; fine, I'd driven there directly and it'd only been twenty minutes). OK, I think, surely when I come back after a couple hours of work they'll have called it in and I'll be on my way to getting over this. WRONG. When I get back to Meijer at 6, they only have the one prescription that I dropped off. Wtf!?!? I hate them. My wife tried to apologize for them by saying "at least they haven't failed to call in a script for me in a long time"... Ooh, should I tell you about how they messed up and gave my 12 month old baby twice as many shots as she was supposed to get at one wellness checkup? Or the time... They do make sure to call repeatedly if they think you have an overdue bill though.
