I shared agedashi tofu (4 pieces) and gyoza (fried, 5 pieces) with a colleague while others enjoyed sushi and salads and soup. Gyoza was better than the agedashi tofu. For the main, I got the pork tobanyaki - pork and mixed vegetables marinated in spicy chilli sauce. It was nicely spiced with thin strips of pork and vegetables (onions and peppers mostly). I ate mine without the white rice that others ordered. Portion was generous, particularly after all the starters. The staff did a great job of keeping up, despite us wanting separate checks (thanks to different companies' travel policies).

Of course no authentic Japanese restaurant will ever serve a portion of four (which would have been the way to provide similar weight of fish and more expected sensation)... so I guess that's a minor quibble. If I were a regular, I'd be tempted to go ahead and order the larger 5-pieces, and ask the chef to cut 6-7 thinner pieces.

It's not on the menu! (that would be Korean food), but there's a large menu of deilcious dishes to choose from. Although the interior is modestly decorated and laid out in a simplistic wooden and tiled style, you're spoilt for choice with the food as you can sit at the bar and watch the chef cook the hot dishes Teppanyaki style in front of you or sit at the back at one of the small tables for a more intimate feel; perfect for date night! Special mention for the yakitori skewers which are particularly tasty and something I always have to order when coming here! The price is very reasonable and whilst the staff are mostly not Japanese, they know their stuff and everything I've tried here tastes great and full of flavour. However, they don't offer bento boxes for those of you who are fond of them. Their drinks menu is also very extensive so as well as the usual teas and spirits they also stock a lot of Japanese whiskies, beers and sake. The prices are also extremely reasonable for imported Japanese drinks of this quality. I've eaten here several times and sampled the majority of the menu as it fast became my favourite Japanese restaurant in London. Delicious. Pair it with the bento rice and it turns into a dangerous combo -- meaning I can't stop eating it even when I get full. Can one die from eating too much teriyaki chicken and rice??
