My friend mentioned that in the past there was always a line for ice cream when she passed by, so we figure this quiet day (which was also rather cold) is a good time to give it a try. They have different flavors, like chocolate, matcha, strawberry, kiwi and more. Some of them, like the fruits, are mixed in the flavor, but the others seem to be just a dusting of cocoa powder or matcha powder on top of plain ice cream. Same for the durian. The employee put the ice cream cone in a base and proceeded to grate some dry durian on top. Therefore, the flavor is impressive at the top, but further down is just plain ice cream. That said, it's still pretty good ice cream, creamy but not too sweet. Another thing special about the ice cream is the cone. Unlike the standard cones, this one is made with a Langue de chat style cookie that is similar to Shiroi Koibito 白い恋人, a delicate, buttery, crunchy cookie with a brown edge. The cone also looks very lovely. The only problem is, it's more delicate than your average cone, and mine cracked after a few licks. With the melting soft ice cream, you can imagine what a mess it becomes. The cones are rather pricey, about $35-40 each, but it's a nice indulgence, and I will stop by again to try their other stuff.

For all the sleepness nights Ricky has put into the business, it's quite clear presentation and quality matter above all other things. Dessert fiends, take note. The chouxs themselves don't disappoint. At $58 for a scoop between the choux, one might flinch at the price, but after a bite of their red velvet choux, I was actually semi-stuffed.
