BodyBuilders Inc. is a workout facility that doesn't have any fancy bells or whistles, but what it does have is an amazing motivational spirit that's sure to help you achieve your health goals. The equipment isn't updated, nor does it have a fancy locker room; but rather the appeal of this gym are the friendly members and the inspirational environment. The owners Kurt and Brenda pride themselves on being friendly and attentive to the needs of their members. It's $5.00 for a single day workout and it's only 25.00 for a monthly membership and they also sell a variety of protein shakes and energy drinks. So whether you are in town looking for a workout for the day or a more long term solution, Bodybuilder's Gym is a terrific choice that's sure to leave you with an amazing workout.

This place was great to be honest…read more To begin with the customer service was great the ladies were always so nice always greeted me when I walked in. Additionally the place was always spotless clean. The main reason I would go is for the fitness center. It was little but cute. They also have a Basketball court, Restrooms with showers, lockers, play room for little kids, and a inside swimming pool. The price for a membership is not pricy at all for all that it has. Furthermore I really do recommend trying out this place out.

Riverfront Park is a 12 acre park that has a running/bike trail, a playground (butterfly…read moreplayground), benches, a splash pad, and one of the best views of the Pettus Bridge that you will find. What it does not have is a bathroom, and the large building that is part of the park is fenced off and under construction. The park is not very well maintained and in dire need of TLC. They just recently added the butterfly playground in 2017, so it is pretty much modern equipment and has swings, a few slides, and tetter-totters. It is accessible, but not very big. One of my complaints about the park is that some of the benches look right into some heavy brush and does not have much of a view. I was tettering between a 3 and 4 rating. Howver, the view of the bridge and the history of the park pushed me to a 4. The park has ample parking up top on the street overlooking the park. I hope the city is able to reinvest in this park and bring it back to life. It is a very quiet and peaceful park. I enjoyed the time that I spent there and

The whole park is literally over run with geese! My daughter could not even go to the playground because it smelled awful and there probably wasn't a single inch of ground that wasn't pooped on. The playground equipment is very old on top of that and was a nasty wet mess. The lake water is the nastiest I have ever seen. I got in it once and immediately regretted it and went to take a hot shower. My daughter (who is 2) accidentally swallowed some of the water while swimming and ended up throwing up multiple times the next day. On top of all this, the bathhouses are FILTHY, in the women's side there were used razors, wads of hair, mold, an awful smell, and toilets that were unusable! My Dad and Husband said the men's toilets were the same way on the men's side. Also, we found many many hooks just laying on the ground. We also found old lures with fishing line everywhere just waiting for someome to step on them! (A goose we saw actually had a hook and line in its mouth!) This place needs a major cleanup. We will never be back and wish someone would have warned us before we wasted a camping trip here.
We stopped by the Civil Rights Memorial Park on Jan 9, 2026 as part of Road Scholar's "The Civil…read moreRights Movement - Atlanta, Montgomery, Selma, Birmingham" program. Located south of the Alabama River, and dedicated (mostly) to the Selma marches veterans, this park marks the ending point of the Edmund Pettus Bridge. It is available for visit 24/7, and admission is free. After crossing the bridge, we waited at the monument area for every group member to be accounted for. Located by the main road (US-80 BUS), this area is rather small. The memorialized individuals are much fewer than the thousands that participated in the marches. No information was given as to when this park was first opened. (My guess is sometime in 2021, going by the date of the first review.) Nonetheless, we had some minutes to appreciate the plaques, sculptures and murals, as well as hear a brief statement by a local guide regarding some of the individuals. Then it was time to get on our tour bus and be on our way to the next destination. If more time was given, I would have explore further within the park to find out if there was more than just the monuments. Based on what I had seen, 3 stars will suffice. Definitely worth stopping when visiting Selma.
