I have been working with Goldin Group for over 5 years now…read more I begun when the company was in its infancy and rode the growth to what it is today. The company has been helping me with my taxes and accounting needs. One thing that has distinguished this relationship is their desire to serve and provide the best possible customer experience. I have been using MillerMusmar for over a year now as an outsourcing accounting and CPA service…read moreprovider for my company (it was recommended to us by our previous on-staff accountant who had quit amidst the mounting pressure and heavy scrutiny). My main objective in using MillerMusmar was to demonstrate to the government customer that my company (besides being an innovator in artificial intelligence) has a sound accounting practices and proper procedures above and beyond of what was required to work with the DOD and to get us a Phase II contract (after several Phase I contracts) for developing the next-generation AI system. In general, these things could get very tricky (especially amidst the constantly changing government requirements and regulation). And we also had to do it while under heavy scrutiny from some government agents trying hard to stop small businesses from being able to compete. The long story short -- we have successfully fulfilled this goal and are now on a contract and in business. I am thus happy with the services provided.

I've been working with Miller Musmar, CPAs for some time now, and I wanted to share my experience…read morefor anyone looking for accounting services in the area. From the beginning, the team at Miller Musmar has been professional and attentive. When I first reached out, I was dealing with some complicated tax issues that I'd been putting off, and I wasn't sure how to tackle them. They took the time to understand my situation thoroughly and explained everything in terms I could actually understand, which immediately put me at ease. What stands out most about working with Miller Musmar is their communication. I'm always kept informed about what's happening with my accounts and tax filings. They respond to emails and phone calls promptly, and they make sure I understand deadlines and what's needed from me well in advance. There's never any confusion about where things stand or what the next steps are. That level of clarity has been invaluable, especially during tax season when things can get hectic. The transparency they provide has also been impressive. They're upfront about costs from the start, so there are no surprise fees or unexpected charges down the line. They explain their billing clearly and I always feel like I'm getting fair value for the services provided. They've also been proactive about finding deductions and strategies that have saved me money, which shows they're genuinely looking out for my best interests rather than just processing paperwork. Their approach is efficient and thorough. They don't drag things out unnecessarily, but they also don't rush through important details. Everything gets done in a reasonable timeframe, and I've never felt like my work was being delayed or that the process was being stretched out for billing purposes. They're organized, detail-oriented, and they catch things that I would have missed on my own. What I appreciate most is that they take a collaborative approach. When decisions need to be made, they present options clearly and help me understand the implications of each choice. They never make me feel like I'm asking stupid questions, and they're patient in explaining complex tax matters. I feel like I'm part of the process rather than being kept in the dark. The team has also been flexible and accommodating when unexpected situations come up. Whether it's a last-minute question or a change in my financial situation, they've always been responsive and helpful in figuring out the best path forward. Working with Miller Musmar has made tax season and financial planning far less stressful than it used to be. Having someone I can trust to handle these important matters with competence and integrity gives me real peace of mind. If you're looking for a CPA firm that communicates well, operates with transparency, and genuinely works to help you navigate your financial responsibilities, I'd definitely recommend Miller Musmar, CPAs.

I love Daisy and her team!…read more They've been at this location for over 20 years and my parents have always done their taxes with Daisy. Since now I'm working it was my turn and I wasn't disappointed! Got my tax return in 3 weeks and since I had to amend after 2 weeks, Daisy happily did the amend with ease. I didn't have to wait and Leslie took care of me once I walked in. They are absolutely fantastic! The office may be a little shabby-chic and outdated but who cares, as long as they do a terrific job since they're dealing with the federal government, I could care less. Her rates are also fair and Daisy is really an accountant I can rely on. Just a caveat: The review below mine, I feel is supposed to be 5 stars but she hit the wrong button because she wrote a positive comment. So don't let the ratings fool you, read the reviews first!

I was booked for an appointment super quick., Madina realized I'm in Maryland and opted to do a virtual meeting. She actually gave me a great discount and the price was way below what I thought I would pay. They advised it would be $55 for 15 mins. They stuck to exactly what they promised. In addition, I had quite a few follow-up questions and some adjustments had to be made after my initial virtual meeting. They didn't inconvenience me by making me meet again, Madina got things taken care of and only called me to advise that my questions were resolved. She offered to meet again for free if I wanted to speak to the CPA again. I was not ever charged for additional work or time to re-review the questions I had. They fixed every single concern/issue. My payroll taxes are now reduced. I'm thrilled and grateful for the outcome of using this CPA company. The best part, Madina did it with the most gracious and kind attitude. During my first appointment with Make my Day I was met initially with an the CPA's assistant who…read moretook all my forms (which they had asked for) and talked to me for some time. This was weird because over the phone the appointment was said to be made with the CPA herself. So just be sure when you make an appointment that you know who it's with and what will occur. The assistant after looking at all my tax papers gave me a quote for $350- 375, then a quote for $450- 475, then a quote for $550- 575, then was told that I would you would need to charge by the hour to look at one thing. I'm a small business owner, and they advertise specializing in small bushiness, so I'm not really understanding that why I would need to pay her to research something like that. For each increase in price I was told that it was because she didn't notice that my taxes would require "additional work" in certain areas. She gave me the first quote after looking at all of my papers and no new information was provided the first quote to the then open ended quote of apparently I'm guessing $550 + hourly, but we don't know how many hours? Not a great way to run a business in my opinion. I liked the CPA but when it comes down to it they're going to have to run their business like a business- they can't increase the price 4 times during a meeting. They should be able to read the forms, ask some questions, give an estimate. (Edit: I don't have a ton of "issues" as the buisness owner below says, I'm just a small business owner. In fact the first increase was because "they didn't know they needed a schedule c" even I know that and I wasn't pressuring them for a quick estimate, I was happy to answer any questions). Also, the office setting is not professional. It has a really bare bones feeling. We met in the lobby (I would a private setting) and sofa was super uncomfortable, painfully so. They say that people can come in and DIY taxes with someone helping to answer questions but the little cubicles were totally empty while I was in the office- probably because this DIY area had absolutely nothing to offer- they didn't even have coffee! How can someone focus on taxes without coffee!!? (Edit: yes I brought the end of my coffee at first but did need more and didn't know they had any- I couldn't see it, I did look for it).
