The stage and space surrounding was great. It accommodated the performance very well. I volunteered to help break down the set afterwards, so I got a good look at the backstage area. I have a bit of experience with theater/performative arts, and I can say that this stage is an exceptionally good one. The show was wonderful, but of course that's more to the credit of the Academy, and the kids. Anyway, as I said I've only been here once, but it served the purpose it needed extremely well. I would definitely recommend the space here to anyone trying to find a stage for whatever reason.

It's close to where I just moved so I'm sure this will quickly become a regular spot for me. It's very no frills in that it has your basic cardio machines, weight machines and a few free weights, but it gets the job done. Attached to an elementary school, membership gets you access to a basketball court and pretty nice locker rooms. I've noticed that there are aerobics classes a couple of nights during the week. Not sure if it's extra $, but honestly it seems to be geared towards the seniors so doesn't matter to me. I like that it never seems to be busy. The equipment appears to be old equipment from the JCC Rec Center, but it still works. Membership here (without access to JCC) is only $50 for a whole year.

After getting off work in Portsmouth, I headed to this library hours before the Yelp Elite last…read moreWednesday. To have quality time for myself while reading a good book was much needed. Let's dive into details on how the visit was. The library is located right by an Elementary school and apartments. I only sat in the lobby area after walking inside to rest for a few hours to read a book I brought from home. Adjacent to the lobby, you have three entrances to the Treasurer, Commissioner of the Revenue and the main room to the library. I'm sure each area has been cared for by staff. For the lobby, it was spotless and each table appeared clean. And it was air conditioned well, which was good for me considering the Yelp Elite event was gonna be outside. Foot traffic was minimal. Very perfect for me with reading. Couldn't have asked for more. If you're in need for some quiet time, a library is always there. Thanks Norfolk Suffolk Library for providing it for yours truly :)

I notice they have 2 book returns out front. You will find the office of the treasurer and commissioner in the foyer of the building. They have a children's section separate from the back. The fiction and nonfiction are located on the main floor. They have quiet study areas throughout, but they could add more.

They have sooooooo many things to offer. Like, make and take craft kits for kiddos, a great teen section, many books, cds, dvds, movies, newspapers ect. They have a notary on staff, call and make an appointment. They also have applications for passports m. The staff was so patient and knowledgeable as we got library cards. They also have an app with books in it. During covid books get dropped off outside only. The best thing... a WELCOME packet for new residents! How awesome is that! I have slacked off a bit so having a moment to catch up was truly needed. Let's see how it turned out. The library itself is well kept. From the areas I walked in, everything was clean and books were in place. When you enter, there are automatic sliding doors and metal detectors. In the desk area, they even have plugs if you want to charge your phone or laptop, which definitely came in handy for yours truly. I spent the next hour or so reading a book from home or checking out news on my phone. Quiet time well spent before hanging out with friends. Libraries are needed for peace and relaxation and this one provided both. The next time I'm in the area for another event, I'll be sure to stop here :)
