REVIEW OF #CafeAbsintheGdansk:…read more My wallet got stollen at the cloakroom of this club by a member of the staff. I entered the cloakroom, which, apparently is part of the kitchen, spoke to a young guy and told him my wallet was going to stay in the jacket, so he should take good care of it. I tipped him quite generously for it. I called the bar the following day, and as a courtesy I told them that I was going to the police to press charges. Magically, after 20 minutes, give or take, a regular guy showed up at my hotel with all my documents (passport, ID card, credit cards, drivers license, health insurance cards, tickets from shopping I had done... everything! Damn! Even my IUD card !! Go figure!) EXCEPT for the wallet, the cash and off course, my black credit card!). When I asked where he got all that, and how did he know where to find me, he said: I found all this in a trash can in the city, I saw the ticket for the hotel payment and here I am. So.... he managed to recover from a trash can (and he looked everything but a guy who goes through trash cans) ALL my documents and tiny stubs and papers! Sure! even the business cards I had from other people, and the car registration I had rented and parked in Krakow! He knew everything was mine! Amazing!!! And I'm bloody Santa Claus! Anyway, I pressed charges against cafe absinthe in Gdańsk for theft. Tourists, stay away from this place! #CafeAbsintheGdansk

Oh, this place. Where do I even begin? When doing some research for our trip, I wrote this place…read moredown because it was described as having a lot of weirdos and often resulting in table and bar-top dancing. YES. We got here earlyish, maybe around 8 or 9. It was kind of a weird vibe. The lights were all still on. It wasn't super crowded. We figured we'd have a drink and then leave. Four rounds of drinks later, the lights were down and the place was bustling, and we had new Polish friends that were begging us to join their table. It got weird, friends. It got real weird. If ever in Gdansk and looking for a fun night out, I'd recommend this place. The bathrooms are kind of gross, but they would be, wouldn't they?
