I guess I will start with the positive, then tell you about my experience with JD Krane. The only…read morepositive I have about this, is the stores showroom. It has a great selection, and really fit my style. From that, everything takes a turn for the worst. I am building a house, with a very reputable builder in the RGV. The only issue I have had building, is with my tile. I went into JD Krane May 23rd 2015. I made all my selections. My house was still being framed but I wanted to be ahead, and not have anything waiting on my decision, so I went to pick out my tile. When I walked into JD Krane, I was met by a sales associate. I told him that I was building a house and needed to find my tile. I asked him what he recommended, at this point I was tile illiterate, and he told me that he preferred the painted concrete look. WAIT, WHAT? I am at a tile store! From there, I knew this was going to be a process. As I am a single male, I made a phone call to my friend who had just built, and had him and his wife came to the store. We, without the sales associates help made the selections. All the sales associate did was try to figure out a price, since my builder got a 'special price.' I also wanted carpet in the bedrooms, I am from the midwest, and that's what I like. Even though, they have a huge selection on carpet, good luck on finding any of their employees knowledgeable on it. Instead of helping me, they tried talking me out of it. I couldn't even get a price!!! I recommend CRT Flooring for carpet. (John at CRT, is way more knowledgeable there than all of Kranes employees combined). Either way I had all my tile picked out that date May 23rd. I went in on July 17th, 2015 and signed for all my tile. (I thought I had already made my selection). I signed the paperwork and knew it would be on them to order it. Well without making this review extremely long, the tile was late, extremely late. Main tile was in about two weeks late, but bathroom tile was late by almost 6 weeks! when I say late, I mean mid Aug is when we needed it, and it is now October 13th, and I am still waiting on tile!! This has set my house closing back by 2 months! Erik, the owner, has terrible customer service skills. I was nice and understanding, but at the end of the day he would not take any responsibility. He told me it is not his responsibility to order tile. He said he had no idea on the status of my tile. Just before going and talking to him, my builder showed me text messages to Erik, that were unanswered. He straight up lied to me about how the tile gets there. He says, and I paraphrase a little, "the tile is in the US from Mexico, but its on a semi in El Paso, and it has to go to all the other cities in Texas, before its last stop here in the Valley." TIME OUT! That is not how freight works Erik. Either way, my tile is over 2 months late and he has not even offered an apology, discount, nothing. Best part! They never ordered my Quartz Counters, Outdoor patio tile, or Stone. I got the quartz from another place, where I ordered one day, the next day they were there measuring and on the 3rd day it was installed! The patio tile I went to Rodriguez, where I choose one day, and not only did I receive the tile the next day, but my installers were able to install it! The stone finally came in, 6 weeks after it was 2 weeks late, which is when I believe Erik ordered it. BOTTOMLINE-DO NOT USE JD KRANE for any of your flooring and stonework needs!!! I cannot stress it enough! My neighbors who built used them for their quartz and not only was it late, but it was stained, so it had to be sent back! My builder warned me about using JD Krane but I really liked their showroom. Go to CRT or go to Rodriguez! I cannot stress that enough!
