Charming location, a well maintained local stop. Do not forget to ask the conductor to stop here or he will not do so. Stones throw from a lovely local pub. read more

If you have a ton of credit, then perhaps you should come along to Crediton…read more This is an absolutely gorgeous little railway station with a single tiny Station House on one side, and a little tiny brick overhang on the other side to shelter you from elements. It's beautiful and it's on a curved track, and can be found in Devon at the junction of two different lines. It was designed by Brunel like a lot of the railways were, and the dude did a good job. You can get from here easily to most of the important spots nearby such as Exeter and Barnstable and what not. And Bristol as well. It's very close to Exeter and in fact is what would be considered a suburb if it wasn't for the fact that the small towns around here are so small.

It is a good 15 minute walk from central Crediton, along the busiest road I have ever seen in Devon (small road too..with a very narrow pavement..most uncomfortable).

There is a WHSmith as you enter the station where you can buy drinks, snacks, magazines, books etc for the journey, and there is a cafe where you can purchase hot drinks, sandwiches, cakes etc. This is nice when you're travelling at 6am! The car park at the station is quite large, but is costly to park all day. You can, however, travel in by bus - the H1/H2 bus stops right outside the station, so is very convenient. You can purchase tickets at the station, and they also have a fast-ticket machine if you have bought your tickets before and need to pick them up. There are various platforms, with a footbridge over the lines to get to the ones on the far side. I believe there is a lift as well. There is a waiting room on each platform to keep you warm on cold days too

The station entrance is quite small, although there is some self service ticket machines, a WH Smith and the travel desk. The platforms are well sign posted, clean and tidy, although as always they lack bins! The only one I found was outside of the station and that was full up.

This is a very modern looking railway station, which gets quite a bit of traffic and has a bunch of different tracks, and some heavy trains coming through here. It has coverings on all the platforms, except for the big middle one. The building looks like it was just built yesterday, but I wasn't born yesterday, so I'm sure it wasn't. The entrance way looks especially futuristic, and even though the station dates back to 1842, it had a major facelift pretty recently. The footbridge that is next to the station is known as 40 steps, but it's no longer here. Sadly this legend is gone, which was demolished in 2013, and was very sad because it was one of the most famous parts of the station, and that's why I took one star off the station.

They have a large car park and car hire at a good rate. They travel to a wide variety of destinations at reasonable times and quite often. I would recommend travelling by train if you want to arrive quickly and cheaply to your destination with no fuss or hassle.
