6/20/25 - some of the bee products
    Bob S.

Yelp event 6/20/25, a beautiful evening at this Yelp/Kintsugi event. The Plan Bee venue is a brewery where they grow their own ingredients, and is an apiary that produces honey and honey based products. Tonight I got to break something on purpose and get put it back together again using an ancient craft that uses glue and gold to make it almost new again. There's a wabi sabi aura to the practice. It may be broken, but it doesn't mean it's worthless, useless, or unusable. Like people, we have a few scars. But, that doesn't mean we've lost the battle, we keep on persevering. Think of the song from the play, Man of La Mancha The Impossible Dream. In one of my lives, for about 20, I fabricated orthotics and prosthetics devices. Helping my patients get back into the game of life.

If you're not familiar with the Poughkeepsie area, Plan Bee Farm Brewery is located not too far from Dutchess Community College. As a Poughkeepsie native I had never heard nor been to the brewery so it was great to experience my first Hudson Valley Yelp Elite event. The road leading to Plan Bee Farm Brewery was unpaved and rocky, so keep that in mind for your car it might be part of their rustic, farm style aesthetic. Either way what the owners Evan and Emily have done to this place incorporates the Hudson Valley uniqueness, charm, with the touch of whimsical touches. The outdoor seating area had a cozy, cutesy vibe with string lights and a beautiful view of the Hudson Valley landscape--perfect for catching the sunset. I didn't go inside the farmhouse, which I believe is over 200 years old, but it looked really charming. The owner even brought our drinks out to us during the workshop, which was a really nice touch and much appreciated. What stood out to me was their on-site bee farm, which plays a key role in their brewing process. The owners incorporate the honey and natural yeast, giving everything a truly local and unique flavor. I'm not a big beer person, but the one I tried was subtle and smooth--not overpowering at all. I also had a strawberry cider, which was really nice, and I can not wait to try more. The drinks were affordable, which made the whole experience even better. There were also some cool little touches around the property a chicken coop (I think I heard chicken upon entering!), a small garden, and a big open area with farm-style seating. I'm not sure what it's used for, but it added to the charm. The Kintsugi workshop was a great and different experience. I was not familiar with the art therapy practice. We worked with repurposed bowls, breaking them and putting them back together using gold glue. Mine came out a little wild and colorful, but I liked how it turned out. You can see it in my photos. It was interesting to see how creative practices like that can bring people together in different ways, even from different backgrounds. Overall, I'd absolutely recommend Plan Bee Farm Brewery. Whether you're local or visiting the Hudson Valley, it's a cute spot with a deep appreciation for the land and a passion for using it creatively from the bees to the rich tastes of the beers and ciders. Emily and her husband Evan, who are behind it all, were super friendly. Evan is also the beekeeper. It's definitely a place I'll come back to with family or friends, or even just on a casual day out. Also, big shout out and thanks Marietta the grteat things you're doing for Yelp Elites in the Hudson Valley and for adding to the great experience.

What a perfect night for a Kintsugi Workshop at Plan Bee Farm & Brewery. Nestled away off the main roads, this place feels so rustic and calming. We got to meet the owners and sample some of the farm-made beers as well as learn all about Kintsugi and make a piece of our own. I really enjoyed this entire event from start to finish and love making a piece by putting back together what was broken. Because I am not a beer drinker, I was happy to hear they also have wine and ciders and tried the Strawberry Rhubarb cider by Hudson North. Near the end of the event, we got a cookie from Pink Sugar pastries which I took home with me. Thanks Marietta for such a lovely evening!

What a fantastic time!!! As we all gathered at our tables, we were welcomed by the owners, Emily and her husband. What a beautiful space and it would be so nice for events like weddings. Emily shared about Plan Bee Brewery and how everything they make is grown right there. They even keep the bees . I will definitely come back here with my hubby to enjoy some more of their sour beers! Next, Tara from Hudson Valley Kintsugi shared how she started the business. I love the whole premise of Kintsugi - how broken things can be useful and beautiful again. The process was so much fun and I really enjoyed my night. I highly recommend HV Kintsugi!!! Thank you to Marietta for always putting together great activities and people to share a great time.

An amazing event! Truly enjoyed! When you drive in, you aren't sure where you are going but once you park, there is a beautiful barn that serves as a tap room with some light snacks. We went over to the covered area where we all enjoyed a sample of their ale. Once settled, Tara started our Kintsugi class. Tara was patient walking us through the process of how to get our bowl from its original state to its finished state. It was amazing to see how Kintsugi transformed all the plain bowls we received into beautiful masterpieces that were unique to each person. Marietta as always does an amazing job of putting together a great event!!

Prior to the event, I was somewhat familiar with the concept of kintsugi, so I was excited about this Yelp Event! Even so, the event exceeded my expectations. Tara was amazing! I loved how she used metaphors and symbolism while walking us through the process. As a therapist, I appreciated her style and approach. It is also cool that the old bowls are given a new life; one man's trash is another one's treasure. This is my second time at a Yelp Event hosted by Plan Bee Brewery. The beer is as I remembered last time, refreshing and flavorful. Mary suggested the strawberry rhubarb cider and I'm glad I tried so, it was delicious! The owners are so kind and passionate about what they do.

I loved the kintsugi event. It was a lot of fun to break, repaint & repair the bowl. Our host was great at introducing the activity and guiding us through each step. I definitely think I've been inspired to do this on my own in the future as well. The venue for the event was very relaxing as well. Much thanks to plan bee brewery for the space and free beer.

After a busy week, Plan Bee Brewery was the perfect way to unwind. Set in the peaceful countryside, we took a slow walk around the garden, said hello to the chickens, and watched the sun set behind rows of hops. What makes this place special isn't just the view--it's the care that goes into the beer. They grow their own hops, grains, and vegetables, and even use a unique yeast that comes from their bees. Would this beer help with my allergies? Either way, it was clear the owners really care about what they do. The lager we tried was fresh, clean, and just right for a warm summer evening. There was also a kintsugi workshop. I've always loved the idea of kintsugi--fixing something broken and making it beautiful again. It was harder than I expected, but really satisfying. My piece wasn't perfect, but that's part of the charm. I'd definitely do it again.

Plan Bee Farm Brewery is tucked away behind a neighborhood on a small hill, the property features hop trellises and cozy spots for their bees, creating an enchanting atmosphere. The brewery itself has a small bar and tasting room where I enjoyed one of their fabulous ginger ciders. The Hudson Valley Kintsugi workshop was thoughtfully organized for beginners. Among our group of about 30 participants, many hadn't done crafts in years, including a woman at our table who was delightfully out of practice. Tara was patient yet efficient, offering helpful advice and engaging anecdotes at each step. Her background as a therapist added depth to the experience, weaving metaphors about healing as we worked on the broken pieces in front of us. My attempt resulted in a chipped but entertaining failed experiment, while my wife's bowl came together beautifully. She enjoyed painting with the provided sponges and various brushes, and her brain found the puzzle of reassembling all the pieces particularly satisfying. If Tara offered longer, less time-pressed workshops, we'd sign up. And we're definitely coming back for Plan Bee's next music event.

Tucked away in Poughkeepsie; there is an awesome brewery Plan Bee Farm brewery with unique locally made beers and ciders that can delight most pallets . Run by a wonderful industrious couple who are kind and hard working . It's the perfect place to grab a drink with friends and family on the weekends good trucks are there to supply you with delicious bites. How wonderful was it to experience a Kintsugi creative workshop with a lovely lady Tara who walked us all through it . Our creative juices were on steroids with this event . Some of my fellow yelp elites were amazingly talented . Their creativity was extreme and I could see how this would be great for bonding experience; a party like a shower ; or just something to get you through the day.. For myself it was date night with my other half and we had a blast so thank you this perfectly wonderful longest day of the year !

What a wonderful yelp elite event this is! The space is beautiful and the hospitality was Exceptional. just a short drive from my home and I was transported. This farm operation has been around for 10 years, and I cannot believe that we are only discovering it through this yelp event. On this longest day of the year, we enjoyed camaraderie, and a very fun crafting experience with a backdrop of the setting sun over Forest and pastures. The proprietors are lovely people and keep a very clean house. After the craft event, my sister and I visited their retail shop with unique offerings of their beer and other They also carry other items that seem appropriate to the setting. I hope that they soon offer snacks, even if they bring them in from outside companies in the region. This is a great place to spend an afternoon year-round. The retail shop is open on weekends right now. I encourage you to grab a buddy and visit the Plan Bee farm.

We couldn't asked for a more beautiful day to have this zen event: making Kintsugi while sipping local beer paired with delicious cookie with beautiful scenery. It was not my first time at Plan Bee Brewery, but it certainly has been a while. I don't think they do enough publicity and it's a bit hidden off the beaten path. I never knew that they make all of their beer from their farm grown ingredients, how cool is that?! I really enjoyed their cellar beer, which is an easy drinking lager, clean and crisp, perfect for the summer. They also have a variety of tart beer and a very good farmhouse saison. Tara was the perfect instructor/ therapist to guide us through how to create our Kintsugi. I love the process and being the longest daylight of the year, we still ran out of sunlight while having too much fun. It just made the experience more memorable. I love seeing everyone's creations! This was a wonderful event with the best Yelpies!! Thank you Marietta for creating yet another unforgettable experience for us.

I really enjoyed this workshop and the lovely message about discovering beauty in imperfections by creating stunning pieces.

Although I was astounded that only a small group of about 5 reviewers came, I know from hearing that this area is quite harder to get stuff from if the company seems to mention the name Yelp. Having known Bill from having followed him for years and having friended him shortly after he became the Yelp Poughkeepsie Ambassador, I recognized him the second I got there and yelled to him "Hey Bill", when I arrived. (If you've seen him in his profile picture like I did, it felt like I had known him for years without too much change in facial profile. He seemed to take things rather easily once I got there. He told me to get the free swag, I was almost forced to check in (which I did), but my cloddy fingers and the fact that my iPad and app was messing me up to check in really put a damper on things. I was amazed that Bill didn't ask several of the others to check in and gave them there stuff without even asking about checking in. That was so unfair - a simple audible reminder to them saying "please check in would have helped ( you wouldn't have needed to go the extra mile there). On top of the sport jug and Yelp mint freebies swag he had after checking in, We small talked to the end without too much focus on Yelp (with a few exceptions). I was glad to get to know more about those reviewers I review with and realize that there is really a face and voice behind the name and location. If only things weren't set so much in bars, I'd be to this stuff more often. Perhaps an occasional non-pub event could be held yearly or quarterly.

Admission was free and there was a $15 ($11 online) fee for parking. There was a short parking lot entry wait when I arrived at around 2pm on a Saturday. After scanning your parking pass, you are then directed to park on the (mostly gravel) parking lot. From there, it is a short walk across the parking lot to the entrance. Security does a quick check on bags before allowing you in. Lots to eat and drink here with a variety of food trucks on site, as well as lots of beer as expected. The food prices range from $8 snacks to $15 meals. Beer ranged from a $7 cup to $20 refillable mug to $30+ refillable stein. The lines can be long at times so plan ahead. I'd expect earlier visits would shorten those wait times significantly. One worker did mention that due to a weak wifi signal in that area, the credit card readers were taking very long to complete transactions. It took me about 3 tries and 5 minutes to pay for my beer. There were a few activities like cornhole, jenga, axe throwing (fee) and live music. There were also some kids activities (bouncy house)...not sure if there was a fee for that.
