This is our go-to movie theater in Barcelona. Located near the Vila Olímpica, 15 screens with a good air conditioner. Many of the movies are VO (voice original) with Castilian subtitles. The prices are very reasonable (as far as prices go for first-run movies), and the snack bar has pretty standard prices and offerings. The seats in many of the salons leave some to be desired... for a 90-120 minute movie, they're tolerable. But for anything longer, I find myself squirming to try to get comfortable. Your best bet is to avoid the seats in the center, and select instead the ones toward the periphery, that are not as "broken in." read more

Going to the movies is becoming terribly expensive in Spain. In the mist of the recession and they charge you 8,65 euros for every ticket. Taking into account that the spanish average salary is much less than the american, it is a steal. There is no way a family is going to go to the movies on a sunday evening with the kids, no way. Also, as usual, popcorn and drinks are outrageously expensive. It is one of the only theaters in Barcelona playing in original version, but is a kind of far from downtown. It's close to the beach tho. Its on a mall (-1 level) and the seats are comfortable. Our screen was kind of small, but this happens a lot in this type of theaters in Spain. Icaria-Yelmo Complex (sounds like an affliction rather than a cinema) is the best of the original language (VO or Version Original) cinemas in the city showing films mainly in English with Spanish subtitles. It's 15 screens show a variety of current films not just the blockbusters and it is comfortable and modern with car parking nearby and close proximity to Metro Ciudatella Vila Olimpic. Tickets are a bargain for a London Brit at about 6 Euros a head, the only down side being that they don't have sweet popcorn only the salty variety. Boo hiss. But, there are plenty of other teeth rotting, stomach melting goodies to choose from! Woo hoo! With 15 different screens there is always a good choice but as with most Spanish nightlife activities they can start pretty late- after midnight. read more

Thank you for having V.O.S.E. movies! and cheap Wednesday night specials. I went to see Trainwreck on its last week open, all alone, on a Wednesday night... turns out I was the only one in the theatre. It was like my own personal screening. At first I thought it was way lonely, but of course I warmed up to the fact that I could just enjoy the movie myself. I'm sure this isn't the norm... I'll be back again for sure. read more

Went to see a movie that wasn't dubbed in Spanish. The theater was small and the walls thin as we could hear another movie playing. The room was cold but clean and the seats were comfortable. Didn't open till around 3PM (weekday) or so. read more

Great selection of first-run movies in English. Located on the lower level of the shopping center (and in proximity to a Burger King and other restaurants/pubs). Note: Despite the address, you can also enter via the Avínguda d'Icària entrance, which is closer to the Villa Olimpica metro stop. read more

I love that this place exists. Although my Spanish is much better than it was in the past, it is usually a little difficult for me to watch American films dubbed in Spanish. Probably because it feels so unnatural, and often it feels like some dialogue is lost in translation. Thank you for Version Original! read more

Poor customer service both at the entrance and in the hall. They directed us incorrectly to the right hall twice. The hall was hot and stuffy. The sound system is better in a Irish pub than the halls here. Wasted my money to be honest. read more
