When the snow melted, we quickly realized the backyard was a nightmare. We hired Manuel's crew to come out and get rid of a bunch of the weeds, move perennials around. They also brought two truckloads of dirt and mulch to do around the swingset and trees and sod for a large portion of the yard that was missing grass. They went above and beyond my expectations and even came back to cut the sod for the first time. They set up sprinklers and timers so that I wouldn't have to worry about keeping the sod alive. The crew was SOOO helpful and friendly. We have actually hired them back to install new shutters and various other jobs. They had a crew of 7 guys come in and do the entire yard in one day. I wish I could post photos to show you how great of a job they did! I will continue to use them for all of our handyman jobs around the house. They are fair in their pricing and Manuel is very knowledgable about everything! THANK YOU MANUEL & KRIS!

The roofers showed up on 5/2 and roofed the house. But they didn't complete the job (soffit and fascia) and left scraps and sheet metal all over the yard and had obviously not run a magnet around the yard because I picked up a ton of nails, debris etc in the yard. I let Brian know on 5/5 and didn't hear back, I contacted him again on 5/8 and was told Jose would show up on 5/10 to complete the facia. Jose was a no call no show. I had to reach out to Brian again to get the job done and they sent a couple guys out to finish the job on 5/12 but unfortunately they didn't speak English and I don't speak Spanish and they didn't know what they were supposed to do so they left. Again, I had to contact Brian to reschedule. 5/24 they showed up and "completed" the job. Upon inspection of their work I found for the soffit, they went over the rotten wood which should have been removed, used white caulk on brown flashing, still hadn't completed the flashing on the left side of the roof, didn't secure some flashing, and again left debris all over the yard. So I called Brian again to let him know my findings and in the meantime he sent me a bill that was 57% higher ($4,250) than his original bid! He stopped by 5/26, for which I had to take a day off work to make sure he understood my concerns. The crew came back later that day to finish and rework the soffit and left. Upon inspection I still found some rotten wood where it should have been removed and again debris was everywhere. I talked to Brian again and let him know I was less than satisfied with the job and let him know I'd be leaving a review online to which I just got an apology without an attempt to make it right. It's very apparent he and the crew don't have pride in their work or care about their customers. I paid him and I can say the only thing he did efficiently was cash my check. If you want a substandard job and some apologies Brian is your man - otherwise go somewhere else.

TLDR; I can't recommend anyone use this company. If you do, get everything in writing from start to…read morefinish. They will lure you with cheaper cash payment, but don't, it's not worth the headache. Be aware of upcharges. They will also leave trash (soda and Gatorade) cans behind for you to clean. Early August, we hired A Step Above Tree Care to remove a few trees and trim some up. Guy came out and quoted a price for cash and with Credit Card. Because nothing was written down, as best as memory serves, it was to remove two trees (with a maybe on a third, fruit/berry bearing tree) and trim three trees, with the expectation that I could keep some of the wood from our trees, and that never happened. We agreed to $2000 cash to get it all done. He agrees for Wednesday, the 10th of August. They showed up early morning getting to work. I would have preferred to schedule a window of time so that I was informed and we could let our neighbors with young kids know. We certainly wouldn't have agreed to that time. All of that said, things appear to be moving smoothly until they are packing up to leave without cutting the third tree down and upcharges us $300 for it, insisting it was not part of the agreed work. They have us over a barrel at that point, so, I agree to get that tree removed for the additional cost. They do a decent job there and ask for payment. We give him the $2000 originally agreed upon with the agreement that we'll pay him the $300 on Friday(8/12/22) when he grinds the stumps. I don't know if it is standard to grind them or not, but they made quite the mess around were the trees were. They left their garbage throughout our yard, multiple bottles and can just left behind. Again, he shows up unannounced, early in the morning Friday and grinds the stumps and came to the front door. Unfortunately, no one was in a position to answer the door that morning. I messaged him, asking about the receipt and seeing the big piles of mulch. At that point he wants to upcharge again, $250 to clean up his mess. Claims to have a receipt and will give that upon payment. I said we'd keep the mulch and would like the receipt. Fast forward to today (9/28/22), a random truck is in the street blocking my driveway with a person claiming to be a brother with an "invoice" for the work done. This reminded me to leave this review of their work. I cannot recommend less. The tree removal and trimming appear well done, but I am not a professional. The whole experience outside of that was unprofessional and off-putting to be generous.

Actually let me rephrase that, charging top dollar for work not even completed. They billed me for work that I personally ended up doing with my family. Then when I confronted Kevin he said "pay me what you think we did". I paid him for the work completed, which was about 75% of the bill. The when the fall cleanup time came around, nowhere to be found. Like a shamed dog with his tail between his legs. No returned calls, and left the property in shambles. It is now December 16th and I still have no "fall cleanup service". Kevin does not have the decency to say that he will not be back. This is the service I expect from teenage boys, not a professional landscaper.
