Yellowstone Bank
Bank with caution. I was Banking at Yellowstone Bank since before my late husband passed. I left last fall. I was extremely angry at the time. I do business in Canada several times a year. I need to send and receive money from Canada. Yellowstone bank has NEVER been able to facilitate that is a timely manner if at all! I have had money returned to the sender and my customer charged every time. I have had money take up to 5 days to arrive from Canada. I have had money get lost for a week! In August of 2024 I sold a filly to Canada. When traveling with livestock to Canada there is a time constraint. Travel Docs have a expiration date to cross the Border. After THREE tries trying to get payment before shipping, all three wires were refused and returned to Canada.My customer had to pay $250 CAD everytime it was returned. I finally had to DRIVE to the Canadian Border to receive cash, the original plan with the buyer was for them to drive to me and haul the filly home, but we were under the gun with time running out and having to get all new travel documents.. It was HOT and long and a horrible trip that could have been avoided. Of course according to Yellowstone Bank it was never their problem or their mistake even when they gave me the wrong Swift Code. I changed to JP Morgan Chase Bank, and three days ago I received a payment from Toronto in less than 4 hours after it was sent! Success! Easy Peasy. 4 Hours, not 4 days only to have it returned to the sender! No more stress and aggravation. No more nasty looks at the bank, no more excuses. Yellowstone Bank has horrid customer service, in fact it is non existent. Yellowstone Bank blamed the "system". Why is it that on my first try with Chase it was so damn easy?! No more driving to Canada to receive payments. Ridiculous in this day and age that all Yellowstone Bank could offer was excuses. and the "Too bad for you" attitude. Oh, and one more thing Yellowstone Bank has a long standing atmosphere of Good Old Boys Club and MISOGYNOISTC practices. In the more than 20 years that I banked at the Absarokee Branch The President NEVER even managed to say hello to me. I never bounced a check or was overdrawn, I have good banking practices yet when asked for a simple "letter of credit" a letter just stating I was in good standing with the bank, NOT a guarantee of funds, I was refused. Somehow I think had it been my late husband it would have been no problem. Chase Bank offers remote banking and remote depositing. The ease of use is fantastic and IMMEDIATE.
