YellowSquare Firenze is a new hostel in Florence, Italy. The staff is SO NICE. The facilities are clean and comfortable. The kitchen has two fridges, a microwave, a stove, a dishwasher, and a couple of sinks. It's also stocked with dishes, pans, and cooking utensils. There is an E Bike/E Scooter parking area right outside the front gate. It is about a 7 to 10 min. ride into the main area of Florence. Breakfast is better here than any other hostel I've stayed! The pastries are yummy and well priced. There is a secure luggage storage area.
There is no laundry facility on site, so I put my laundry in the basket of an E Bike and washed and dried my clothes at a local launderette that I found on Google Maps.
The Air Conditioning is great in this hostel and YellowSquare doesn't do what the horrible Generator hostels do (PS Generator Rome is an awful place with even more awful staff-avoid like the plague) where they refuse to turn on the air conditioning. However, inside the rooms, if someone cracks the window it will automatically shut off the air conditioning. So, make sure everyone you are staying with knows this.
You can rent a towel at the front desk and you can replace the towel as many times as you want (you also get a free tote bag when you rent a towel).
There is a Club in the basement that is open on select nights. There is also Yoga, Stretching Class, Cooking Classes, and many other activities to keep you busy. The best thing about the hostel (other than the staff) is the rooftop pool. It was very fun to hang out there, and there are many seats and lounge chairs. The water is surprisingly cool, and on certain days they have a bar open on the roof, as well.
A couple things that could be better:
-on-site laundry would be great!
-the addition of a drinks and snacks vending machine, open all hours!
-24 hour access to the kitchen (that closes at about 11) read more
