I am disabled and explained my needs. I guess Catcha-Cab thought the whole situation was hilarious. I went down the ramp, found no cab, so I called again. Several times the dispatcher told me "he should be pulling up now." I did go back a couple of times to look, so I guess that was the joke. I don't know where he was pulling up, but it wasn't at my house. Much as I dislike the idea of more government regulation, Columbus, GA needs a Taxi Cab Authority. This was no where near my worst taxi experience here. After a horrible experience a few months ago, I said I would not take another cab. But someone told me Catcha-Cab was different, so I took a chance. It wasn't different. Playing a sick joke like that is despicable. The people who run taxi service in Columbus are contemptible, hateful and cruel. There appear to be numerous different companies, but several are actually the same company. Without knowing which ones are part of this vile organization, it is not possible to avoid being victimized by it.

The first, the driver took 30 min to pick me up from my doctor's office even though I gave the dispatcher specific directions on what building I was in. Turns out the driver was hanging out at the wrong building for 15 min and didn't think to call me. The cabs aren't the cleanest or well-maintained but for a fairly short ride, it's not that big of a deal. The second experience was this morning. I called Goldstar 40 min ahead of time to request a cab for my brother. He needed to get to the Groome shuttle office in Columbus to get to the ATL airport (the Groome office is a 12 min drive from where we are). After 5 min PAST the scheduled pick up time, I called the dispatch and was told the cabbie was dropping off someone and would be there within a few min. Well, long story short - 2 more calls to the dispatch and 1 from the driver later - each call promising that the cab was 5 min away, the cab was a total of 32 min late. (That is 4 calls total in a 30-min period!!!) The cab arrived 3 min before his shuttle was scheduled to leave from the shuttle office. Needless to say, since my brother missed his shuttle. He had to take the next one which gave him approximately 20 min to get thru airport security and make it to his gate. Did not happen. The driver was apologetic but apologies mean nothing when you are purposely lied to over and over again. Why couldn't they just be upfront and say "I'm sorry, we are running late, it's really going to be 20-30 min more." Give me the opportunity to call someone else. The cab company is not the one who is being inconvenienced - the customer is. But no, they just choose to string you along. Do NOT use this cab company if you have to be anywhere on time! Or if do have to, give yourself a 30-45 min buffer!

Ranger Cab is by far the best service I have had with Taxi cabs in years!…read more Between NY, PA, FL, IN, AL, TX, CA and so many other states, I never received as good as of a service from Taxi companies as I did with Ranger Cab. Actually, "good" is an understatement. They were Excellent! Every time I called, 1) they would politely respond to my request. If they were too busy, they would even call me back to check who I was and if I still needed a ride or not. 2) Better yet, while on their way to pick me up, they would call me to notify if they would be arriving a couple minutes late or not due to traffic. 3) Even more incredible, once I was told over the phone that trip from A to B would be $20. I get in the cab and am dropped off but then to be charged $30. I was shocked and I explained that I was told I would be charged $20 instead. The driver tried reaching higher to communicate the issue but because it was so busy he was not successful. Understanding his limitations, I simply paid the $30, said thank you, and left to my house. About an hour later, my door bell rings and I go to see who it is and find out it is the owner coming to my house to apologize for the inconvenience and hand me $10 cash as agreed earlier. I was blown away!! Overall, these are just 3 quick examples of the high quality of the type of people and service I have received! Thank you Ranger Cab for being professional and personable.
