I've had two kids attend this school and I don't believe I could have found a better place, locally or regionally. The teachers and staff have been, and are still viewed as a second family by my children and the care and education they're received is unparalleled. My daughter is currently in the tiny tots program and I couldn't be happier. The teachers send us pictures and updates throughout the day to inform me how she is doing.They are always doing little projects which are really cute. Our daughter just finished the two's program and has really blossomed at Yearling. She has come home every day with new skills, songs and stories. We have loved the small class size and backyard, and her teachers most of all. Her teachers Ms. Jackie and Ms. Jenn have been phenomenal with everything from planning creative educational activities to comforting our daughter whenever she has been upset. My wife and I decided to send our daughter to the Yearling Tiny Tots (12-24 month) program despite all the uncertainties 2020-21 presented. It was definitely a great decision. The nurturing environment Sylvia, Carol and Ali created has allowed our daughter to expand her emotional and physical development. We know she is being cared for with so much love and patience. My son has been enrolled at Yearling since Sept 2012 and I, like any new mother, was nervous about giving him the care of relative strangers. Thankfully, the transition was smooth and my son has really grown by leaps and bounds under the care of the staff. As of today, I can only speak of the two year old program and so far, I have no outstanding "complaints." Instead I want to focus on the experience my son has had in the class.The teachers Eva, Linda, Gennesy are integral to my son's development. Eva, the lead teacher, has 20 years experience in the school and offers a range of activities in "intervals" so the students never get bored. Each activity is engaging and suitable to his development. My son's love of reading is reinforced strongly and his skills have flourished from the interactions with the other students. If you are interested in enrolling your kid, make sure to commit to the school's "phasing in" period where parents are asked to be "on call" for a smooth transition for your child for 5 days. Initially my husband and I didn't understand the fuss, but really, this principle is based on what is better for the child, not our work schedules necessarily. By adhering to the this child-centered approach, Sonny transitioned very quickly to the schedule of the school. I cannot speak to the same experience of the latter reviewer because I have not experienced that sorta of interaction with the director of the school. I understand her communication style and that her philosophy is rooted in what she believes is best developmentally for the child. I can understand that her direct approach may not be as palatable to some, but my husband and I appreciate straight forward communication from our son's teachers. read more

My daughter was a student at Yearling for nursery school, summer camp, and then Pre-K. I am very impressed with my daughters vocabulary, the content of what she learns each day, the special activities, and her teachers. Most recently Ms. Amy with help from Ms. Natasha - simply amazing. Between my two boys, we have been in every class from the 1s-2s, 3s and 4s, and each class we've had a very positive experience at Yearling. All of the teachers/caregivers are excellent, and it is apparent how much they all LOVE the kids. I have sent my children to preschool there over the course of the last three years knowing that they would be safe and well cared for. Safety and care aside, my children also learn! My 4 year-old at the start of the school year refused to write his name, or even try, and now he loves to write his name and all of the letters he's learning. Yearling also prepares kids well for kindergarten. My oldest transitioned to PS 24 this year, and in our experience Yearling had prepared him brilliantly. The hours are also very convenient for working parents. You can drop your child off as early as 7:30, and stay as late as 6:00 p.m. The staff at Yearling listen and respond when you have a question or a concern to discuss. Mrs. Fox is the director, and she adores the children. She takes all concerns quite seriously, and I love that she runs a tight ship at Yearling. The teachers are all easy to communicate with, even throughout the day. My favorite moment was when a teacher sent me a cute picture of my son, just because. It brightened my day. read more

I was SHOCKED at the treatment I received over the phone. I called to see if I could come by to see the school and I was told to call back to make an appt. with the owner. I called back and the owner gave me such a bad attitude and was so rude that I would NEVER send my child there. When I passed by the place, it looked run down and not great anyway.... read more

Our daughter attended Yearling Nursery School for the 2s (Ms. Liz) and 3s (Ms. Fanny) program. We had such a WONDERFUL experience and our child truly learned and developed so much. During her time in Ms. Fanny's class she learnt through play-based lessons/activities and themes. As an educator myself I was blown away at the concepts and knowledge our child was learning and retaining. Early literacy and STEM skills were an integral part of the curriculum and Ms. Fanny did an excellent job at teaching them in an age appropriate (FUN all HANDS ON - no worksheets etc!) way. We also loved the neighborhood feel of the school, the outside play options (especially in summer with water play and frequent gardening). In addition the director of the school Ms. Fox is extremely dedicated, reliable and truly cares about each child as an individual. The school is very safe, clean, bright and provides an excellent environment for young children to learn and more importantly grow and develop in their early years. Last but not least the convenience of the extended day programs is optimal for working parents. HIGHLY recommend this gem of of nursery school. read more

Our daughter attends this Yearling Nursery School since she is 3 years old. I am amazed with teachers attitude and hard work they put for children. Ms. Fanny is wonderful and very attentive to kids. I don't worry for my daughter when she is at school, because I am absolutely sure she is taken care of. I was surprised how much great things they give to children, playing and teaching them. Our daughter brings different hand craft works back home almost every day. I also like mobile app this school has, where I can see personalized pictures of our daughter during the day; and it is easy to exchange messages with teachers and warn if our kid will not attend or if I am going to pick up her earlier.
