I have hired Sorto Landscaping back in 2016 and wrote a gleaming review for them in January 2017…read more They have been servicing my property until Oct 2019.
This year they were supposed to send me a new contract well in time (as every year) before commencing their services in April. However, since it's already April and my grass is up to my knees by now, I started wondering why I haven't heard from Abel (the owner). I had to text him twice and E-mail him once before he finally replied after leaving me hanging for TWO days.
To my question about the contract, he said that they will continue maintaining my property, however HE decided to change it to double the work done previously, meaning double the cost! And he made that decision without discussing it with me and/or consulting with me!
As the owner of the property and the one paying, I believe that the client should be informed about eventual changes, let alone that the owner should be the one deciding how many times a month they want something done, or at least be informed by the landscaper about eventual suggestions and possible changes.
So, not only that I wasn't informed and/or consulted about decisions on my property and my money, but he couldn't be bothered to inform me about it well in time for me to start looking for a new landscaper, but instead left me hanging until now, April, when the grass is more than overgrown and ready for mowing.
In spite of their OK work, this was quite disappointing experience of ultimate disrespect towards a client, an example (as so many of them before had done) of a landscaper giving himself a right to make decisions without consulting the property owner first, then ghosting, and leaving the client hanging without a proper notice of not coming back to do the job.
So, be aware, Abel will make decisions about your property (always about taking more money from you, never less money) without consulting you as the owner of the property first.
Moreover, I wrote the same review on their website and they did not publish it, they publish only 5-star reviews. So much about honesty and professionalism...
