Unreliable- did not finish project as proposed in their proposal. Ghosted us. What they did complete was done well, but why they disappeared when the project wasn't complete is a mystery. read more

Please do not use this company. Their ratings are low for a reason. I used Marcus and his team over the summer and they did a nice job. Marcus was really responsive and easy to work with. Marcus reached out in the fall and we agreed on a price for my job, I paid a deposit and then he did not show up and is not answering calls. I'll be filing a complaint. read more

I know why they have 3 stars now, as I requested aeration on my lawn with some other services, but what did I receive Unable to service I'm booked for this time. There was never a date or time requested, just a request for service of my lawn. He just blew off my request. I have already contacted another lawn servicing company ran by a Veteran and we will meet this week. See we stand behind our work, and our word. It is called ethics! Unfortunetly too many here in this world and In Utah don't have a clue to what this means. read more

This company has no business being in business. April 20th, M and his crew did yard cleanup, mow and trim, aeration and verbally agreed to come twice a month for the upcoming Summer. Oops, forgot the machine to aerate the lawn! Okay, paid them for everything assuming they could do the aeration in another visit. Oops, they haven't been back since, despite two text messages, initiated by me, that said they would be back! As a senior thats had complete shoulder replacement surgery recently, I really needed someone to help me this Summer and this company completely "ghosted" me. So I'll find someone else to help me. Lots of options out there. Lesson learned don't trust these guys and don't waste your time with Yard Barbers! read more

Specialties

I run my clean-ups thoroughly. I’ve had plenty of clients come my way and drop their contractors due to pros taking shortcuts. Everything that has a plan, I set aside meets and sit-downs to make the process as transparent as possible. I’m hands on with projects myself instead of being a big name where 10-20 employees are going around doing the job for the big guys. Just some of the compliments I’ve gotten from clients that they appreciated that others didn’t offer.

History

Established in 2014.

This is year 10 for Yard Barbers. Where it all started was when I was kid working for my mom who was the owner of Sunset Landscape. This was the line of work I was born into. Every year, this is what I did as soon as I was old enough to hold my own with a shovel and rake. My mom was around from the 80’s and didn’t finish until a few years ago in 2018. I learned from one of the best in SLC, and am here today growing my own business and building my brand. It’s definitely been a journey, but I love this line of work. I’ve continued to work at my craft and have expanded my services all across Utah from maintenance to yard clean-ups, to landscape makeovers. This has also blessed me to spend plenty of time with my family, be very active with football coaching, and helping advocate for the youth and my Polynesian people in my community. I owe a lot to this business.

Meet the Business Owner: Marcus F.

My name is Marcus Fonua. I was born and raised here in Salt Lake City, UT. in a small and big hearted neighborhood known as Rose Park. I come from a family of 9, and today have my own “Table for 10”, so family is very familiar to me. I bring this up because that’s my biggest blessing in this business. Bringing smiles to families when helping them with tasks around the yard that can get frustrating and very overwhelming. I love interacting with the people and helping them out. The hilight is the reactions I get when finished. Nothing better than helping a family or individual feel better about being able to enjoy their home. Give me a call and let’s get you your free estimate.
