Despite the shortage of deck building materials due to the surge of home projects primarily because people are working/staying at home due to COVID19 restrictions, Robert was able to secure our deck materials and started building ahead of schedule and finished the project in less than a month. During the planning phase, John invests a lot of time working with you to develop the best approach. Listen to his suggestions because he's honestly trying to get you to a quality end product within your budget that you'll be happy with. Once the scope of work is set, he writes a very detailed work proposal and contract that spells out exactly what materials and services he will provide - MUCH better than the average contractor and so important to avoid misunderstandings and disputes. Project pricing is reasonable in today's market. John's crews and specialty subcontractors do excellent work and John visits the job site frequently to ensure that the work is being done correctly and to make sure that you are happy, or to see if you have any questions. If you do have any questions or concerns, John addresses them immediately. In over 40 years of hiring and working with contractors of all kinds, I know the difference between bad, average, good and best. JAY Construction is in the best category and like all "best" companies, that distinction flows directly from the integrity and work ethic of the owner. If you are in Monmouth or Ocean counties NJ, I highly recommend that you include JAY Construction on your bidders list.
