We went to get some wine and all of them are laid out by region...so if you how where your label is from, it is easy to find. As a visitor it was nice to find Yankee Spirits as we wanted some beer & vodka while visiting friends. The interior is large and well organized, and prices appropriate. Why 3 stars? Service training and product knowledge. While looking at their cold beer cases, I was asked by 2 different staff members if I needed help finding something. Both times I said yes. First time I said I was looking for Cape Cod beer, and he said he never heard of it. I was rather shocked, I told him about it, at which point he said they probably self distribute and thus not carried. Ok. So I again looked at the local beers, and when asked by the 2nd person if I needed help, I asked what local breweries made a red ale? He basically had no idea, and just pointed to all the local beers in the cases. Come on. Know your products, especially the local stuff. I decided on Red Rock amber ale and proceeded to check out. The checkout experience was efficient and friendly. Would I revisit, sure. Good selection on wine, beer and liquor. But train staff on your products sold to make it great service. read more

This is one of the best selections of beer in the area and they have great prices at that! I love the choice of craft beer as well as popular favorites like Sam Adams. We've been enjoying the 12 pack or Sam Adams for $12.99, that is a great price. Our favorites are always in Stock and as soon as they are available they are for sale here. If you enjoy other types of liquor they have a gigantic selection, I'm not sure how the prices compare because I normally don't buy that often. Be prepared to show your ID, they card 45 and under, so have it ready to avoid getting annoyed to show it later! read more

As far as liquor stores go this is one of my favorites. They have a huge selection of craft beers and wines. The staff is knowledgable and can usually help you find anything your after. It's very neat and organized so you can find what you want easily. They also have a location in south attleboro and Sturbridge if your up that way. The coolest thing about these stores is that they have free yes free tastings. They do small ones monthly and large ones they call grand tastings every season. They ask for a donation to st Jude's if you can and its well worth it. You also get a discount for whatever they are Pouring at the event. Worth the drive to attleboro for us Rhode Islanders who do not like to drive out of Rhode Island. read more

I loved coming here, and my extended family frequents here often. They had the best craft beer selection and unique selection. But after our visit today, we will never be going back. Both my wife and I are in our 30's, I showed my ID, they asked to see my wife's ID too (weird but ok..) unfortunately she forgot her wallet at home. The cashier explained she could not make the sale. The manager was walking by, I tried pleading my case since we don't live close by. Before the manager could get a word out, this blonde lady (a total karen) walks up and was super confrontational and rude. We totally understand if its the law and we have to leave empty handed, but there was absolutely no reason for the hostility. If there was at least an ounce of apologetic tone, we would have totally came back. read more

Cheapest, best beer and liquor selection around! This warehouse wonderland of spirits is almost TOO big---good thing Yankee workers are the most helpful beer and liquor staff I'v encountered! I stopped in here during my weekly tour of sin before spring break (McDonald's, liquor run, and then Ice Cream Barn to finish it all off!)---Boo yah, what a find! I've never seen such a large selection of cold beverages! Everything from Thai beer to brandy and hard cider. I even spotted some Sweet Tea Vodka that I cannot wait to try! I also loved how helpful the staff was at Yankee. Within 5 minutes, a staff member who had seen us wandering around asked if he could help us find what we need. Sure enough, 20 bucks later, I had a handle of brandy, Guinness, hard cider, Chang beer, and two mini samples of Bailey's. Not too shabby for this Spring Breaker! read more

The wine staff are also extremely knowledgeable and very helpful when trying to buy a perfect bottle of wine. My favorite section is the sparking wine section, thy have tons of bubbly to choose from. There are three locations in Massachusetts: Sturbridge, Attleboro and Swansea. I've been to both Attleboro and Swansea, and the latter is, by far, my favorite. The Swansea store is far more modern and clean-feeling. The aisles are open and expansive, and the inventory is vast: a dizzying assortment of wines, beers, and spirits to fuel a party or simply provide a delicious, inexpensive wine to accompany midweek dinners at home. James Taylor (the vino aficionado, not the musician) is the wine manager at the Yankee in Swansea--he's simply phenomenal. Our sights are always set on James to suggest a new, amazing cabernet sauvignon or a crisp white for summer picnics. He's got an incredible knowledge of what's in store. Yankee Spirits also distributes an e-newsletter to its customers and a regular series of email updates to announce impressive new additions to the store, or a wide variety of upcoming events. Twice a year, Yankee hosts its Grand Wine Tastings: around 30 tables' worth of wine purveyors, with about six different wines per table. Pours run about one ounce each: do the math now, because you won't be able to do it later. At these events, we wisely make a beeline for James, who knows what we like and cuts through the clutter, providing us with a hand-picked cheat-sheet of the tables and selections we should sample. If not for him, we would need to be carted out in a wheelbarrow. Save your liver and your ability to make sound judgment calls by making friends with the wine manager. The beer selection here is stellar. I was in a sudsy wonderland of brews, running around like a giddy schoolgirl with way too many sixers packed under my arms. I could go on an on about the beer selection. It was spectacular. I also like this location because it doesn't have that god-awful claim room with the putrid odors emitting from it, as the Yankee Spirits in Attleboro does. I loathe that room and the stink that seeps from it. It's gross. However, the wine selection is dire, as is the liquor selection. I mean, really. No Old Overholt for my Manhattans? No St. Germain to splash into my champagne? Seriously, if 'spirits' is in your name, you should have these... spirits. I'm also not a fan of the location. It's not worth the drive from Providence to Swansea... well, except maybe for that amazing selection of beers... read more

Yes, it's a supermarket for booze. If that idea appeals to you, you will be in heaven here. I like this location much better than Attleboro. It's newer, cleaner, and I experience much less self loathing after shopping here. Sometimes they have free samples. Of booze. I repeat. Free samples of booze. Not just wine and beer, mind you, but top shelf tequila. The pricing is okay, not the cheapest but still reasonable. The selection of beer is outstanding, but it's hit and miss with the spirits. I always loved this place until today. I went in to buy 3 six packs of craft beer. Very expensive beer I might add. This store has one of the best selections around. I was with my sister who had forgotten her ID at home. She went to leave the store but the very rude cashier insisted to check both our IDs. I explained she forgot hers but I am the purchaser and I had my ID. She refused to cash us out blaming store policy. Their selection is unparalleled with local competition to the degree where comparing Yankee Sprits to the mom n' pop places in the region is not even fair. Whenever we have big parties, need a gift, or just want to stock up on booze for a stretch, Yankee Spirits is the first place we go to. I have ordered cases from them to stock up with (at a 10% discount) and have never had a negative customer service experience from their staff. They are well informed, courteous, and helpful even when faced with the task of finding a single bottle of whatever in their own enormous stock. The other reason I love Yankee Spirits is their massive beer tastings. Despite the crowds, getting into their big beer tastings is a worthwhile experience. Tastings are free but usually have a booth up front collecting "recommended donations" for local charities. I always find something new to enjoy and have fun running into local friends who show up. I discovered boozey root beers and lemonades at the summer one this year and was able to stock up before every other liquor store ran out of them for a solid month. read more

I'm not sure what else is in the area, I was passing through & found them on the Yelp app & had to stop. I was looking for some Homestead Cider which I picked up on my last Mass run & they had some. Not much cider selection but definitely what I was looking for. They have an awesome collection of craftbeer to appease the most discerning of folks. I saw plenty of the macro stuff too if you're into that. Prices weren't insane & the check out girl was very friendly & helpful. I wasn't overwhelmed & everything is pretty organized. Lots of local & national stuff that I can't find in CT/RI which made me happy. read more

Awesome selection - pick your vice The staff here are like Santa's elves at the liquor workshop - they are so helpful and knowledgeable (the managers, anyway) and cheery. It's just a damn beautiful store! Roomy aisles, bright but somehow not Wal-Mart bright, sleek right angles everywhere you look. The icing on the cake: I had my Nickelodeon Toys R Us shopping spree moment - fast forward 20 years - buying our beer/wine for our wedding here. And this very fine establishment bought back every last case and bottle that remained. Fantastic mega liquor store with a friendly staff and a somewhat stinky redemption center. I love their crazy-good selection of craft beers that I could peruse for days, well at least for hours, at a time. It is absolutely huge. They have the same sort of liquor, wine and beer selection that you get at most stores of it's sort but it is fantastically organized. I can only imagine how awesome it would be to shop for a large party. I would feel like a kid in a candy store. They have a redemption center in a separate area (you have to go outside and through a different door to the very left of the main doors) of the warehouse. It is probably for the better that the redemption center is separate from the shop because it pretty much reeks of stanky beer. Also, a few of the machines were kind of giving me trouble when trying to input the bottles. Yankee Spirits is pretty much an awesome liquor warehouse. My only complaint is that I wish that they did "mix-a-sixers" like some places do. If I'm anywhere near Providence I take the trip to Yankee Spirits to check out their beer aisle. They always have something that I haven't heard of, or something that I've been wanting to try. They a great selection of specialty craft beer from every nook and cranny of the world. I love the German beer but have also been able to find some of the Polish and Russian favorites I've tried at restaurants over the years. So I'm in the store today, March 16, at 11:30 a.m. Couldn't find what I was looking for but I settled on a six-pack -- unfortunately with one beer missing. I bring it up to a middle-aged blonde woman at the register, who's changing the receipt and discussing something with a co-worker. I wait patiently and when she's finally done she says to me, "Oh, I'm closing. I'm going to take that woman who was ahead of you, however, before I close out." There's no one else in my line -- the woman to whom she's referring is in a different one. I say, "OK ..." and step out of line and get into another one, which had two people with big orders in front of me. Then I think about it more and say to myself, "That was unacceptable," and return my beer. To add insult to injury, when I pass by her register on my way out the door, I see the same cashier at the same register tending to a guy with a cartful of liquor. I've dropped hundreds of dollars in Yankee Spirits over the years and I've been generally happy with its prices and selection. That all goes out the window, however, when someone makes you feel unwelcome. Never again. read more

Huge effin' liquor store! Went last week on my way home from Seekonk. They have just about everything...and considerably cheaper than New Bedford area liquor stores. Bought a case of Magic Hat for 10.99...can't beat that! They were doing tastings, as well. Definitely going to become a regular there once I start my internship in East Providence this spring. He listens as my wife and I explain about our likes and dislikes; then, gives suggestions based on that, and his extensive knowledge of wine and the regions they are from. He doesn't just tell us what to buy, but explains why we should consider it. I normally love Yankee Spirits! They have a great doiversity, great tasting events, and helpful staff. I've been a customer for many years. The staff is friendly, they were even helpful when my car died in the parking lot last summer. But tonight I was very shocked at the customer service. .and by an employee that isn't new. .. I arrived ten minutes before closing, I just left my shift as a server in a restaurant. And, believe me, I know how it is for a customer to walk into a "resteraunt" just before closing, it's frustrating. .. but, I'm still professional and friendly, because, that's my job. But when i approached the register, and placed my items on the counter, there was no, "Hi, how are you tonight? ", nothing, not a word. .. she scanned my items, put them in my bag, and just stood there. I had my wallet out, but waited for her to tell me the amount. . Which she did say "22.03"... I gave her 22.00 and took 3 scents from the leave one take one, because if she didn't have the time to speak to me, I didn't find the time to di g out three scents from my wallet. She took my money handed me my receipt, and didn't even say goodnight, thank you or one word. ... Rude and totally unprofessional. .. I don't think I would go there again or recommend it after tonight. read more

On the last Monday in August I was insulted by the so called manager on duty. They had run out of Amstel 24 pack cans so I politely asked if I could have 2 12 pack cans for the price of the 24 can case. The manager was very rude to me and said that the wholesale price for both the case versus the 2 12 packs is not the same. Now mind you that this guy would not give me a break after I had just spent over $200.00 on liquor and wine in preparation for a trip. As a business owner myself I think that giving me that discount would have been the right thing to do since I was not the one that ran out of a certain item. I used to go there for both myself and my wife about twice per week but no more. I will never step foot into that store again. They might be the biggest store and have the best selection but I would rather go to another store and pay a little more but be treated with the respect that all customers deserve. read more
