Nice selection, but a 15yr old boy waited on me and could not answer any of my questions. One of the benefits of living near the state line is that liquor stores on each side offer a few different items that you can't get in the neighboring state. This isn't the biggest liquor store around, you'll have to cross the border and go to Yankee Spirits for that, but they do have a large selection, particularly of wine and craft beer. I've found some new craft beers for my husband here that I haven't seen in nearby MA. There is one cognac that I can't get in nearby MA either. The staff here is always very friendly and helpful, but if you need to get your Powerball tickets, look elsewhere. They don't sell lottery tickets here. read more

They have a great selection of beer and liquor, as well as mixers, plus ample parking, and right next to stop and shop, what else could you need? Staff is fine, not overly friendly but they don't need to be. I do feel like their hours could be better but just have to know when to go. read more

1776 is an institution for a reason. Thirty+ years in the biz means they have had time to grow to be the top dog in the East Bay area. That being said, while they have competitive pricing and a great selection for their liquors and wine, their beer section really sucks. The best part about 1776? They make gift baskets! Yes, gift baskets! They ask you what amount you want to spend, and they stuff the basket with a variety of adult beverages, snacks, and accessories in a festive arrangement. Ribbons, crinkled shred, a fun wicker or metal basket and shrink wrap. Very professional. Every time I order one I get gift basket envy! They always add some fun little bar tools. The service is top notch here, even if the beer selection is severely lacking. read more

The selection is good, but what horrible management and customer service. They advertise things on sale with a sign, you get to the register and the price is double. Upon questioning it the attitude soars from the cashier who refuses to honor the sign with the sales price. When requesting to speak to a manager you're told "they're not here and I have no idea when they'll be back, besides they won't do anything for you". I said good customer service is key to a successful business and the customer is always right, to which they replied "not here they aren't". Simple enough, I left the beer on the counter and walked out. Never will I return either. read more

I was recently at this liquor store with some friends of mine who are all of legal drinking age. While we were checking out, the employees began to question and harass one of my friends who did not have his ID on him mocking him for not being at least 21 when in reality he was over 21, even though he was not purchasing anything. After said friend left the store, the employees continued to talk about beating him up because of how small he was. This is obviously extremely unprofessional and rude. The store and its employees should not be treating their customers in this manner. It was absolutely abhorrent to witness and I will never be purchasing anything from this store again. read more

I've been going here for 20 years and the selection is great. However, I have to say, the staff at the register is the most unpleasant service I've ever received. Even though the location is convenient and variety of product wide, I'm ready to give my patronage to an establishment that is warm and appreciative of their customers. While the liquor selection is great I have never seen worse customer service. I understand that liquor stores need to be strict on IDing college students but that doesn't mean they need to be rude. Every cashier that I have had in this store has made me feel uncomfortable and not welcomed and look like they do not enjoy their job at all. read more
