From our very first visit to the model home in NH, through our search for the perfect location, to our recent move in, YBH always provided the right amount of information and guidance to make informed decisions, without ever being burdensome or leaving us with questions. My wife and I contemplated building a post and beam house on our farm property for years and although we came close to making it happen a few times, we always put it off because of the uncertainty of the final costs and the reliability of the builders we were considering. Then one day my wife stumbled across Yankee Barn Homes in New Hampshire and after a couple of conversations and site visits to some of their homes, we were sold. The design process was fantastic, it centered on a days visit inside a model we liked. While we asked to remove walls, enlarge rooms and relocate bathrooms and laundry facilities, Chris Sevigny and Andrew Button provided feedback and recommendations and made it all happen on screen. Before the day was out, we did a virtual walk through our soon to be Yankee Barn Farmhouse. From there, the build process was both exciting and surprisingly fast and smooth. Living in Canada with our property in Southwestern Ontario, we were unable to witness the build process but were kept up to date with photos and progress reports. The delivery of our house was unreal, 8 flat bed trucks arriving in our small community all numbered and labeled so our assembly crew could unpack it and assemble it like it was a well documented lego puzzle. Yankee Barn sent an awesome site supervisor, Andrew Martin, to manage the assembly and within 30 days we were walking through the shell of our home sealed from the outside weather. We are now living through the final finishing stages of our home and can't say enough about how exciting and educational this process has been. We have been nothing but pleased with the quality of workmanship, high level energy efficiency, and creative design put forth by YBH. Jon Sevigny listened to all of our wants and concerns and delivered exactly the design we had envisioned. Andrew Martin and his construction crew worked with an eye to precision, neatness and quality execution of the design. I have read 1 other review concerning Andrew Button, he is no longer with YBH. He was when we began our home construction, but whatever problems he may have had, did not impact the quality of the product delivered to us by YBH. We have had nothing but complements and praise from individuals in the construction industry who have visited our home to provide other services. We have complete faith in the quality of the product delivered to us and would not hesitate to recommend YBH. We are on their list of references. Our home we recently purchased is a Yankee Barn Home originally built in the 1980s. We bought it knowing nothing about the company or these types of post and beam houses until much later in the closing process. Despite no renovation other than regular maintenance, the house has held up beautifully to the elements all these years. We had a thorough home inspection top to bottom and it passed with flying colors. The inspector noted its superior construction and materials as a large reason why it had held up so well. It had appreciated a lot in value since the 80s and more than similar homes that were not Yankee Barn. Chris Sevigny also answered our question about it via email despite not being "real" customers. We have a lot of respect for a company that builds a home to last like this one has and will, and for providing customer service just because I'm now part of the Yankee Barn "family." read more

We built a Yankee Barn Home in 2010 & 2011 - and the experience was wonderful. We cannot say enough about the extraordinary quality, the customer service and how happy we are with the home. It is a unique and beautiful home that enjoy every day and when people come to visit they are awed by how it looks and how high the quality is. In addition, it is extremely energy efficient and filled with light and air due to the high ceilings and large windows. The troubles they experienced a few years ago are hopefully behind them and the person involved in the car dealership has moved on.
