I remembered how great of an experience I had two years ago and hoped I could get him to come back. I've had other painters come in between those years due to 4A being booked on the days I needed. All of those times, I felt a weird feeling in my gut or the other painters just didn't do a good job. This time, I was PRAYING I could get 4A to come in so I didn't have to bring someone else, lol. Luckily, he was able to come the next day (a Saturday morning on his wife's birthday!!) to give me a quote. He then came the following week to remove the foam and paint. Reliable, insanely well mannered, respectful, clean, and of course, great skills-- above and beyond. I cannot say that enough. Last time, he painted more than he needed because he saw what other painters have done. This time, not only did he remove the horrible sticky foam and painted the room beautifully, he also reinstalled hooks that were basically falling off and loose. I do not find joy or retribution in what I have to write here. I always went in with a smile and left with a smile. I brought all of my husband's and i's clothes here had them stain treated, dry cleaned, and pressed. The most bizarre, and DISTURBING event happened a couple days ago. Stemming from her extremely ANGRY husband. I went in with one shirt. The wife was busy so the husband took over. I said what I always do... "Hello! I'd like to dry clean this shirt". He said, "We don't do dry cleaning". What do you mean you don't do dry cleaning? Did something change? is this not still a dry cleaners? The inside was completely the same the outside was completely the same, and there were clothes hanging in the background. Everything seemed.So I continued to inquire and just try to understand. Within a matter of seconds the husband was full-blown raising his voice at me and clearly extremely frustrated that I was asking questions. He got in my face and was so close to my face that I could smell his terrible onion breath the whole time. There was clearly an extreme language barrier. So I tried to make myself more clear and simplify things. Didn't work. So I chalked it up to maybe he had a bad day. And just given him the benefit of the doubt. Not only did he not try to understand what I was saying, he would not let me finish a sentence. NOT ONE. He proceeded to yell at me for 10+ minutes as though I was his child. Talking down to me like I was an idiot. I am a 44 year-old mother, wife and business owner. And MOST importantly a human being & long time customer. His behavior was beyond unacceptable, and very frightening. The whole time he was yelling I was thinking to myself. I wonder if he has talked to other clients like this?.. Is this how he treats his wife, his children? It was a nice men's shirt and when I purchased the shirt, it came with an email that said, you may machine washed on low but to keep the longevity & life of this garment - it's best to be dry cleaned. So I brought it in. He told me they only dry clean WOOL. At this point, his wife chimed in telling him to be quiet, & that he needed to calm down. A couple of times she physically tried to gently shove him out of the way because he was so livid and out of control. Telling him to back off and that she would take care of it. But he wouldn't listen, and only got worse. So I asked, all the years that I've been coming here getting my husband's shirts dry cleaned, I haven't been getting them dry cleaned? Well since I was so strangely incorrect, what had I been getting done this whole time? He told me they have been machine washed! I said, you've been putting his shirts in a washing machine and just washing them like I could at home?I was so confused. I just did not understand. I kept my composure the whole time still waiting to see if he was going to calm down. He did not. Even when I said that I was going to leave a bad review; he couldn't care less. I could tell his wife was getting very frustrated with the situation, me clearly not understanding what I had done wrong & not being able to control her husband. It was just a mess. He then proceeded to grab the computer and attempted to read aloud all the things over the years that I had "dry cleaned"(which I didn't understand what the point of that was) because like I said, all I wanted was this ONE shirt to be cared for. So I said, why can't you just do what you've done in the past? Why is this shirt any different? IT WASN'T. I clearly was getting nowhere, except for verbally assaulted. I called my husband & explained what had just happened. But honestly felt even repeating it was hard to do. I literally felt like I was just beat up. I felt so weird crying over it. ( I'm not one to cry). That's how he knew it was bad. As soon as I got home, he gave me a big hug but saw that I was still shaking. And was not OK. He got in the car & drove there and went & had a major talk with him. My husband said he was furious and that they both yelled at each other. My husband who is not an angry man, but is very tall and big so I'm sure he's naturally going to be intimidating to most. The man still didn't seem to care about what he had done. He only wanted to defend his position. My husbands point wasn't to intimidate but to try to understand what his problem was, and let him know that he 100% can never speak like that to me again & shouldn't to anyone else for that matter. And that be ashamed of himself. The man ended up shaking myhusband's hand. But all I wanted to know was, "did he tell you that he was sorry for what he did to me?" "Or did he just say sorry to you for arguing? "No, he only said sorry for raising his voice at me. Nothing about how he treated you." Had he apologized for his actions I would not be writing this review. Clearly his pride is more important than his business. So I will be taking my business elsewhere. read more
