Bringing a little bit of South American flavour to the centre of Hobart is this little cafe that's opened after a full refurb of the space that used to be Frankie's Empire. Saying goodbye to Frankie's was tough but saying hello to Yambu has been a blessing! Get ready for spice and everything nice. A short/sweet/sassy menu is just what's needed in a spot surrounded by a lot of tradish cafe menus. Lots of things with a little kick in this brightly painted space. A wonderful window bench for people watching, one of my favourite city pastimes. Friendly, happy and attentive staff always mean something's happening right. They're only open from Monday to Friday, which is certainly a choice to make for an inner city cafe, but Hobart is tiny and life does continue on the weekends (I mean, Farm Gate Market happens literally around the corner from Yambu every Sunday)... I guess we'll see what may happen in the future. read more
