I had a humidity issue that I thought was originating with my HVAC system. I found Allbright HVAC…read moreusing a web search for HVAC centers with the words "Free Estimate" in the query. I found Allbright listed in the results and went to their homepage. I followed the Free Estimate link of their website and called one of the numbers listed there. I spoke briefly with Jimmy that day and he said there was likely no issue with my HVAC, saying it sounded like a crawlspace humidity issue. However, he offered to come and "have a look" anyway and asked me to schedule that visit directly with the office, as he was busy that day. I did so. Neither Jimmy, nor the office, nor the website said anything about a cost for this visit and I made it clear when I spoke with Jimmy that I was calling for an estimate for a potential repair. Jimmy came to my home October 29th, he opened the closet door to look at the furnace, looked in for less maybe 30 seconds (touching nothing), concluded the issue was crawlspace humidity, shut the door and spent the rest of the 40 minutes he was at my home chatting about my dog and how much he enjoys helping people (free of charge), saying he'd just picked up and delivered groceries for his last customer. I'm sure he did. I'm sure he does nice things. However, in this case he did no work nor inspection of the furnace and offered no information beyond what he'd told me on the phone when I called for an estimate. The following week I was sent a bill for $125 for a Service Call. On November 3rd I called the office and said I had called for the Free Estimate and was told that did not apply. The front desk person was unwilling to listen to what I said and unwilling to consider the fact that their website (and Jimmy) led me to believe I was going to receive a free estimate and no one had mentioned a $125 service fee. I called Jimmy immediately, feeling the charge was a misunderstanding with the office. Jimmy confirmed with me that it was an error and said he would take care of it. I trusted this to be the case, but a month later I received a second statement now charging me $125 and a late of $2.50. I called Jimmy again on December 2nd. This time he said he had forgotten the matter but was almost home and would fix it as soon as he got to his home computer. I asked him to please send me confirmation via text that the matter was attended to. He agreed but I never heard back from him. I texted him on December 5th, including a photo of the bill and asking him again to please let me know the wrongful charge had been zeroed out and to email me confirmation. I provided my email in the text. Jimmy responded and said he would get it done when he was in the office. I never hear back from him nor received an email. I texted once more on December 9th asking him to please remember to forward the correction to me by the end of that day. I've had to submit a complaint to the Better Business Bureau to get the matter resolved. I do not recommend these guys.

Had AC worked on before I moved out of town. Service was fast and got the job done…read more However, I received a paper invoice a week later and paid by check (which I rarely do given the age of credit card use) that same day. Unbeknown to me, it wasn't cashed until one month after I moved out of town. Naturally, I just closed my old bank account forgetting about the check written one month prior. I didn't realize anything until I received a rather accusatory phone call requesting payment and an additional $50 charge for a check on closed account. Slightly aggravating but partially my fault having not accounted for a written check from one month prior. They were none too slow about taking my credit card over the phone ASAP to snag the extra $50. After my experience and unexpected phone call/voicemail I would choose one of the other reputable places in Columbia, MO.

My friend recommended this company to take care of my flooring after a drain overflowed 30 gallons…read moreof water softener water on my floor. They came out and set up fans, took baseboards up and peeled the carpet back. They charged $25 for the set up and another $48 for "observation" of their work (what?!). When they came to check the second day, they noticed that they had missed a large wet section. Initially he said they didn't check and must have missed it. I made it clear I wasn't happy I would be paying another $135 because he had missed that spot. He, in a rude tone, reminded me we would have paid more had they noticed because they would have added another fan the day before. My biggest irritation was that I would now have another day of listening to these loud fans (that terrified my toddler by the way). Then, after I told him twice that no one had come to check the drain yet (that's another bad review) he said the drain had to have overflowed or leaked again because they HAD checked the area the day before and the reason the floor right next to the wall was dry was because he had a fan down. WHAT!? He expected me to believe the gallons and gallons of water it would have taken to drench my floor as much as it had was dried out and not a trace was left on the drain or floor next to it because of his fan? The softer was turned off by this time so clearly this was not the case. I don't know why he didn't just take responsibility for his mistake. That would have been huge. In the end, we used them to clean the carpet as well and he only charged us the minimum fee of $95 for more space than they normally would have. I felt like this was him making up for the extra $135 and extra day of listening to the fans, which I appreciated. However, my floors now have lines in the carpet where he used his cleaner and they won't go away. We have burbur carpet so this may be the issue. I don't even want to call them to fix it because working with them was so frustrating. If I had to use them again I would check their work as they weren't as diligent as they could have been. The owner was the one who came back out both days. He has no personality.
