BE WARNED, STAY AWAY!!! Zero stars if that was an option. Wasted both of our times for over three weeks. I am now having to push back other projects and trades that I had lined up after having to push them back already due to delayed starts. Shaune came out and it started off great. He took notes and pictures and kept in touch and sent a quote shortly after the visit. I had plans I had drawn up for him to get a better idea and take offs for materials and sent it to him to use as reference. Once the quote was sent he stayed in contact and answered my questions. After I reviewed other quotes I received, I made the decision to go with him and that's when things started to fall apart. Before making my decision I made sure the quote he gave me was a GMP (guaranteed max price) and confirmed the scope to which he agreed to both and I signed a contract with Shaune to complete the job. This was the start of Shaune making excuses and becoming less responsive. As the start date in the contract came closer, Shaune kept making excuses to having to push the start date back. I tried to be fair and understanding to his schedule and situation by letting him give me a start date that worked with his schedule which he stated in the contract. After the third time he had to postpone the start date, I had enough and told him I was disappointed that he had kept pushing the start date back. He responded to saying I was right and he would start the following day. The next day came and he never showed up in the morning and didn't call me either. Instead, he had a "coworker" email me from an outlook email address and not his company email address which was a red flag for me. In the email "Sebastian" stated that due to material cost and fuel cost increase they can no longer do my project and never even called me to discuss a price increase on materials which I would have been willing to work with them on. I was in a meeting and couldn't not call Shaune or "Sebastian" so I texted Shaune to find out what was going on since my email flagged it as spam and have not received any calls/texts from him. Shaune said "Sebastian " overruled his quote and he had no control over it but I was under the impression Shaune was the owner based on how he kept mentioning "my company" when he was at my house giving me a quote. Shaune said Sebastian reviewed the invoice and saw the cost went up and can no longer honor the invoice. I asked Shaune why he never reviewed in the past three weeks while we had been talking and figuring out logistics which he gave me another excuse. I told Shaune prices have in fact gone down and fuel cost have been stable the past two months or so and that excuse was not valid. I am in the AEC industry so I am well aware of the current market for material and labor costs and the associated increases. I went ahead and did my own material take off ran just to see how much he was the difference was using direct distribution vs. buying all the materials at Home Depot, like he told me he was. The quote he gave me was still in the range and he would still have made a profit on the project even by buying materials from Home Depot. Any other company would have called a new client to discuss this instead of being a no show especially the day of. This might have been a blessing in disguise where he might have not know what he was doing and cause major damage to my house. I CANNOT SAY THIS ENOUGH, STAY AWAY FROM SHAUNE AND THIS COMPANY! ....unless you like to have your time wasted and your project schedule pushed back by several weeks minimum, then by all means give Shaune a call... Update to respond to Shaune's response to my review: The "5 star reviews" you mentioned seem to have been flagged by Yelp as not recommended reviews assuming the "Sebestian R." Is the same as your co-owner. To be clear, there should not have been any assumption or confusion of them "losing" the job since I signed a contract with with Shaune and his company. I even told Shaune I'm willing to review any cost changes and they were the one to cancel the contract instead of calling me to work things out. I was the one left hanging trying to find a different contractor to do the project and having to delay/cancel other trades I had already lined up based on the schedule you gave me that I asked you to confirm in which you did. read more
