It's no nonsense let's get to the issues and get you on the mend or improving your quality of life. Since working with Dr. Gathline Etienne I have had fewer seizures than I have in 20 years. This has greatly improved my quality of life. She is straight and tells me if I am contributing to my disease with what I am eating or activities. I think this is what people don't want to hear. Or when she explains some of your symtoms are not connected. People and WebMD think that the doctor needs to listen to their medical opinion and treat them for what they read they have. Well good luck with that. Why go to a doctor if you want to tell them how they are going to treat you? I am sure you can find a doctor to tickle your ears but they won't improve you quality of life.

You have to move heaven and earth to get an appointment here. Be prepared to have a referral and from your primary doctor ONLY regardless of whether your insurance requires it or not. Without a referral you are "wasting your time and theirs". They don't work with any other speciality doctors and won't accept referrals from them either. The front office person is rude. My girlfriend was told by her gyno that she needed to see a neurologist for migraines. She called to make an appointment after getting Dr. Bikoff's name from a friend. After getting the run around about the referral, she contacted her gyno and they sent a referral. After a few days she called the office and was told they did not receive the referral. She contacted the gyno and they confirm that they received a confirmation that the referral had been received. She called the neurologist office back and they told her they did get it but they don't work with gynocologist. She told them that is who told her to go. She doesn't currently have a primary care physician as hers moved to a new location. She was told they would review the referral and let her know. We will be finding a different neurologist. If you have to jump through that many hoops just to get an appointment, I can only imagine what it's like when you actually get there. The front office employee definitely needs as attitude adjustment. No one wants to have to go to the doctor and treating them like dirt makes it that much worse. I did the trial it just makes you have the stimulation so you can't feel the pain. My children do not want me to have it because my rejects foreign objects. I had to have the hardware taken out of back because it made my pain worse and it still hurts to this day from Aug. 1999 to May 2025 and it has gotten worse. I think they think I am only going for the opioids but they are wrong. I have been on very strong medication like 400 mg morphine and it didn't help me. I have taken methadone. oxycontin, and did the fentanyl patch but none worked so I told them I didnt want any of this so 2 10/325 oxycodone is all they give me and I stay in so much pain I can't do much of anything. My anxiety is out the roof and my nerves are shot because of the pain, but they want give me anything more than that. The people and Drs who wrote this for just anyone hurt it for people like me and others who really need the medicine for real pain.
